The present invention relates to an automatic winding mechanism with an oscillating mass, of the so-called rotor type, that is to say in which this mass can travel an unlimited angle. In mechanisms of this kind, the rotor generally carries a control element located in the vicinity of or around its axis of rotation, which element may be a pinion, a cam, a rake, etc.
The components controlled by this element, such as wheel, pinion, toothed sector, lever, part moving in translation, etc., are generally held in place by at least one special bridge, called an automatic bridge. For its part, the rotor is adjusted on an axis or tenon located most often in the center of the movement. A special device holds the rotor in place, leaving only a slight bounce in height. This device can be formed either of a flange fixed to the automatic axle and engaged in a groove made in the hub of the rotor, or of a removable part carried by the rotor in the immediate vicinity of its pivoting, part that a slight movement makes it penetrate into a groove made in the tenon of the rotor.
The automatic winding mechanism according to the invention is characterized in that the same assembly element, namely, in one embodiment, the automatic bridge, simultaneously keeps the rotor and at least part of it in place. members for transmitting the rotational movement of the rotor to the ratchet of the barrel, this assembly element being mounted on the frame of the movement by at least two orientation elements and at least one fixing element.
The drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the automatic winding mechanism according to the invention.
Fig. 1 shows the elevation passing through the axis of the rotor, the first transmission mobile, a fixing element and an orientation element of the automatic axle.
The fia. 2 shows the plan view. Fig. 3 is a variant of the automatic bridge.
The winding mechanism according to fig. 1 and 2 has a rotor 1 which is freely adjusted on a tenon 2 integral with the watch frame 3. It is held axially by an assembly element 5, called the automatic bridge, which has a notch 4. This bridge carries in at the same time the upper pivoting 6 of a transmission mobile 7 and it is oriented by orientation elements, or feet, 8 and 9, and fixed by a fastening element, namely the screw 10. The rotor hub is engaged in notch 4 by a groove 11.

During the assembly of this mechanism, the bridge 5 is the last part to be put in place, by sliding, from the open side of the rotor which has been suitably oriented beforehand.
This can first be slightly lifted above its support base to facilitate the operation. Bridge 5 therefore maintains the entire automatic winding mechanism, including the rotor, in place. This results in a simplification of manufacture and assembly.
Instead of an open notch, the bridge 5 may have an elongated closed entrance 12, as shown in FIG. 3. The rotor control element passes freely in the widened part of this inlet; the rotor then engages through its groove 11 in the constricted zone. The rotor is thus held in place. To proceed with the assembly, it is then necessary to first engage the rotor control element in the opening of the bridge, then to put everything in place on the frame.
The components for transmitting the rotation of the rotor to the motor unit may be composed of other elements than those, moreover incomplete, shown in the drawing. The rotor can, for example, carry a cam actuating either a lever, or a part driven by a translational movement, or any other control element capable of transmitting its rotational movement to the motor member of the watch.
