Ferrule for hairspring The present invention relates to a vi role for a balance spring, comprising a body provided with a radial slot to be fixed with greasy friction on the 'axis of the balance, and an outer ring, in the form of a crown segment, intended to be engaged in a peripheral groove of the ferrule body to wedge the hairspring, when the end of the latter is engaged in said slot and its part contiguous applied in said groove.
This ferrule is characterized in that the bottom of said groove has a width corresponding to that of the hairspring and to that of the internal face of the ring, so as to ensure the guiding of the latter.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a top plan view of this form.
Fig. 2 is a section taken along the line 11-11 of FIG. 1.
The ferrule shown in the drawing comprises an annular body 1 provided with a radial slot 2 to be fastened with greasy friction on the axis of the balance, and an outer ring 3, in the form of a crown segment.
The body 1 has on its periphery an annular groove 4, with flared walls, the bottom of which has a width equal to that of the hairspring 5. Above the groove 4, the body 1 has a conical surface 6, the role of which will be explained. qué further. The ring 3 has a section such that it matches the shape of the groove 4; in particular, its inner face, parallel to the axis of the shell, has the same width as the bottom of the groove 4. As a result of the engagement of the ring 3 in the groove 4, the two parts 1 and 3 are held axially relative to one another, but the ring 3 can easily be rotated relative to the ferrule body 1 by engaging the tips of a special tool in the two notches 7 provided on the upper face of the ring 3.
To fix the hairspring using the described ferrule, we start by engaging its inner end 5a in the slot 2 of the body 1, then we apply the hairspring 5 following a certain arc of a circle in the bottom of the groove 4. The length of this arc depends on the position of the point of attachment of the hairspring 5. The hairspring 5 is then maintained by means of tweezers, near point A (fig. 1) and the body of the ferrule is capped. 1 with ring 3, making sure that end 8 of this ring is at the location chosen for the attachment point. By pressing axially on the ring 3, it opens slightly, because it slides on the conical guide surface 6; it then falls into the groove 4 and wedges the hairspring 5, providing it with excellent guidance over the entire fixing arc.
It is possible, if desired, to further adjust the "position of the attachment point by turning the ring 3 to the left or to the right.
It can be seen that with the ferrule described, it is not necessary, unlike certain known devices, to first place the outer ring on the body of the ferrule, then to secure the end of it. spiral in slot 2 and then rotate the ring through a wide angle to reach the correct point position. of attachment. On the other hand, the height position of the hairspring is absolutely the same everywhere since it is determined by the groove 4.
