Ferrule for instant fixing of a balance spring. The object of the present invention is a ferrule for instantaneous fixing of a balance spring. This ferrule is characterized by two parts intended to be threaded, on the balance axis, the first having at least one passage for the end of the balance-spring, the second adapting to the first and presenting, on the one hand , a clamping element for the balance shaft and, on the other hand, a clamping element of the hairspring in the first part, all allowing rapid assembly and disassembly of the hairspring.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the ferrule forming the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is an axial section through I-1 of FIG. 2 and fig. 2 a plan view.
Fig. 3 is a section of a detail on III-III of FIG. 2.
Figs. 4 and 5 show the ferrule in two different positions, one before, the other after tightening of the hairspring.
In the form shown, the ferrule cam- takes a ring 1 hollowed out on one side so as to form a small cylindrical housing. This ring has, on its hollowed edge, two side notches 2 intended to give not; age at the end of the hairspring 3 to be fixed on the ferrule.
An elastic part 4 in the shape of a U is disposed transversely and so as to be able to rotate freely inside the shell 1. This part is intended to engage at the same time as the shell on the balance shaft which it clamps between its two branches. At its periphery, the elastic part in the shape of a U has a recess or groove 5 intended to receive the hairspring during tightening.
The mode of use of this ferrule is as follows: The inner end of the hairspring is threaded in the notches of the ferrule, the U part being in the position shown in fig. 4. To tighten the hairspring on the ferrule, it is then sufficient to turn the U part of a quarter of a turn, using a tool, dpi so as to pinch the hairspring by the part. elbow or base of U.
The hairspring can thus be mounted firstly on the ferrule, in the manner described, then the ferrule threaded onto the axis of the balance. You can also first put the ferrule on the balance shaft and then thread the spiral into the notches of the ferrule and tighten it by turning the U. part.
Dismantling takes place by doing the reverse operations.
The advantage of the described ferrule is that it allows rapid assembly and disassembly of the balance springs.
