Process for making a new salt.
The subject of the present patent is a process for the preparation of a new salt, which is characterized in that diethylaminoacetic acid (2-chloro-6-methyl-anilide) is reacted with citric acid. You can do the reaction in a solvent, such as. B. alcohol, ether, benzene, dioxane, water, water-alcohol mixtures see, make.
To carry out the process according to the invention, one can also proceed in such a way that such a salt of diethylaminoacetic acid (? -Chloro-6-methyl-anilide) is brought together with such a salt of citric acid which is converted into an intermediate the free diethylaminoacetic acid (2-chl. or-6-methyl-anilide) and the free citric acid form. The reaction product in this case consists of two salts; Diethylaminoacetic acid (2 chloro-6-methyl-anilide) dihydrogen citrate occurs as the first or second crystallizate, depending on the solubility and crystallization tendency thereof.
The diethylaminoacetic acid (2-chloro-6-methyl-anilide) dihydrogen citrate thus obtained forms colorless crystals which melt at 85.
The new salt is intended to be used as a local anesthetic.
Example:
5 g of diethylaminoacetic acid (2-chloro-6-methyl-anilide) in 7 cm3 of acetone are mixed with a solution of 3.8 g of citric acid in 13 cm3 of acetone. Crystallization occurs after a short time. After some time, the crystals formed are filtered off with suction, washed with acetone / ether and then dried. 7.4 g of diethylaminoacetic acid (2-chloro-6-methyl-anilide) dihydrogen citrate, which melts at 85, are obtained.
PATENT CLAIM:
Process for the preparation of a new salt, characterized in that diethylaminoacetic acid (2-chloro-6-methyl-anilide) is reacted with citric acid.
The resulting diethylaminoacetic acid (2-chloro-6-methyl-anilide) dihydrogen citrate forms colorless crystals that melt at 850; it is intended to be used as a local anesthetic.
