Waterproof watch case. The present invention relates to a waterproof watch case in which the rim of the crystal is pressed radially against a part of the case body by an outer clamping ring.
This box is characterized by the fact. that the rim of the glass has, before its assembly, a substantially cylindrical inner face and a frustoconical outer face, the face of the ring in contact. with the lens being cylindrical and said part called the frustoconical box body, the whole so that after assembly, the rim of the lens is deformed, under the action of the ring, and that its initially cylindrical face is pressed against the frustoconical face of the box body.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, one embodiment of the object; of the invention.
Fig. 1 is an axial section of part of a watch case, and FIG. 2 is a sectional view of a detail.
In the box shown, the crystal 1 has a flange the pressed radially, by means of an outer clamping ring 3, against a flange 2a of the middle part 2. Before assembly (fig: 2), the flange la of the ice 1 has a frustoconical outer face 4 and a cylindrical inner face 5. In reality, face 4 is aligned with the axis of the watch at an angle of approximately 3. The outer face 6 of the rim 2a, against which the rim la of the ice is applied, is also frustoconical, the opening of this truncated cone corresponding to that of the. frustoconical face 4.
Finally, the inner face 7 of the ring 3 is cylindrical.
When the crystal 1 and the ring 3 are mounted on the caseband 2, the rim 1a is deformed, as shown in dotted lines in an exaggerated manner in FIG. 2, its face 5, pri mitively cylindrical, matching the face 6 of the rim 2a.
This arrangement ensures a durable watertight mounting of the ice, which is not sagging at strong thimbles. internal stresses, as is usually the case in sealed windows.
On the other hand, this penetration of the rim 1a constitutes an anchoring preventing the glass from coming out consecutively to the external shocks that the ring 3 could receive.
