Description

Method and device for cross-welding a strip-shaped plastic, such as polyethylene.
The present invention relates to a process and a device for cross-whitening a strip-shaped plastic, such as polyethylene, in particular for the production of containers from hoses. Such substances can be cross-welded between two stamps, one or both of which are heated. It is also possible to use only a heated stamp and a counter stamp with an elastic pad. These punches must not touch the material to be welded because they stick. There are therefore intermediate layers between the punch and the material to be welded, through which the heat required for Sehweissung is transferred to the material.
If only one heatable stamp is used, so that the heat transfer takes place only from one side, then the opposite stamp is expediently provided with an elastic pad which serves as an 'iderlager and to isolate the heat. Foils made of one material serve as the intermediate layer. with a higher melting wheel than that of the material to be welded, for example a fabric made of glass or synthetic resin threads. During welding, however, it cannot be prevented that the workpiece is sometimes on the intermediate layers.
remains alive, mainly at the intermediate position of the non-heated stamp, which results in the splice being torn open when the workpiece is misplaced and the tape is thus defective.
The method according to the invention is intended to remedy this error. It consists in that at least one of the intermediate layers is moved after the welding process in the direction of the advance of the workpiece at the same speed as this, whereby the intermediate piece deviates at an acute angle from the path of the workpiece, that also in the one between the workpiece and the Intermediate layer forming gap is influenced by means of a wedge the separation of the intermediate layer glued to the tape.
In the previous method, after the welding, the intermediate layers are attracted by the tape perpendicular to the plane of the tape and this creates a tear-off process in which the entire adhesive surface is torn off at the same time.
According to the present invention, the simultaneous. Feed from the tool and at least the most frequently adhesive intermediate layer achieves a rolling separation, that is to say the separation process extends continuously on a separation line.
A welding device is used to carry out the method, in which an intermediate layer is arranged at least above the welding point, which is characterized in that it is attached to a holder which describes a path at an acute angle to the band path when the band is advanced.
In the accompanying drawing, exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are illustrated. It shows :
Fig. 1 is a section through a welding device near the line I-I in Fig. 2,
FIG. 2 shows one side of a welding device near arrow A in FIG. 1,
3 shows a variant attachment of the C; e- house of the upper conflict,
4 shows a variant embodiment of the lower counter-punch,
FIGS. 5 to 10 show the various processes involved in welding.
Two side walls 1 of the device are connected to one another with a cover plate 2 and an intermediate plate 3 to form a frame. On the side walls 1 bearings 4 and 5 are arranged, in which flat rails 7 are mounted vertically displaceable. On the flat rails 7 downwardly open housings 8 are attached, in which rollers 9 are mounted. A cloth 10 is attached to each of the rollers 9, to which an intermediate layer 12 is sewn or glued. The intermediate layer consists, for example, of a fabric made of glass or plastic threads.
The rails 7 are provided at their lower end with a pin 13, FIG. 2, which engages in a slot 14 of the lever 15 which is fastened on the axis 16 which is rotatably mounted in the side walls 1. A rod 17 is articulated to the lever 15 by means of a bolt 18 which engages through the plate 3. A compression spring 19 is arranged between the plate 3 and the lever 15 and presses the lever 1 and thus the rails 7 with the housing 8 upwards. the lower end 17a of the rod 17 is designed as a magnet armature and is pulled by the magnet coil 20 at the appropriate moment against the pressure of the spring 19 near the bottom.
The stamping bar 22, which can be heated by a heating element 23, is used to press the band parts together during the welding process. The stamp rail 22 is fastened to levers 24 which sit on the shaft 25 which is mounted in the eyes 26 of the side walls 1. The pressure surface of the stamp rail can have any shape, depending on the desired shape of the welding point. On the levers 24 rods 28 are articulated by means of bolts 29, which engage through the plate 2 and a connecting rail 30 or an angle.
A compression spring 33 is seated between the connecting rail 30 and the disk 32 fastened to the rod 28, which presses the lever 24 and thus the stamp rail 22 into the upper position, FIG. 1. The lower end 28a of the rod 28 in turn serves as a magnet armature and is attracted by the magnetic coil 34 at the appropriate moment.
In the exemplary embodiments, a bar 36 with a rubber insert 37 is used as a counter-stamp during visual welding. An intermediate layer 38 is stretched over this, which is held firmly by means of side strips 39. The beam 36 is fastened by means of screw bolts 40 and nuts 41 on a shaft or a tube 42 which is pivotably mounted in two bearing brackets 43. By means of a torsion spring 44, the shaft 12 is rotated into a position in which, as can be seen from FIG. 1, the beam 36 is perpendicular to the shaft 42.
This position is limited in one direction by the rail 46, which serves as a stop for the bar 36, while the bar 36 can be pivoted out in the direction of arrow B. The bearings 43 are fastened adjustable in height by means of bolts 43a in the connecting plate 3 by means of nuts 43b.
The wire to be welded, forming a band 50, runs over a roller 51 over the table plate, between the intermediate layer 12 and the intermediate layer 38 and is pulled by a distance by means of the pliers 53 in the direction of arrow C each time. The device for moving the belt is not part of the present invention and is therefore not described and drawn in more detail.
In FIGS. 5 to 10, the individual operations are shown. In FIG. 5, the intermediate layer 12 and the punch 2 @ are in their upper position, in which the tape 50 is sewn by the pliers 53. The (@egenstempel 36 is in its rest position, that is, it rests on the rail 46, Fig. 1, as a result of the rotary action of the spring 44. In the next moment, Fig. 6, the intermediate layer 12 has on the now stationary Belt 50 is lowered and rests on it. The stamp el is still in its upper position.
NUl1 also lowers, see FIG. 7, the punch 22 and presses the intermediate layer 12, the band 50 and the counter punch 36, whereby the welding takes place. After the welding has taken place, FIG. 8, the punch 22 lifts off the intermediate layer 12 and this too is lifted off the band 50.
In FIG. 9, the tape 50 is pre-moved, the lower punch 36 being able to swing out when the film sticks to the lower intermediate luff 38. However, since the tape slides over the angle 55, the front leg 55 of which is pointed, the tape 50 must roll off the punch 36, which enables the intermediate layer of the punch 36 to be gently detached from the tape, because the detachment does not occur from the whole area at once, but on a progressive dividing line.
In order to also lift the upper intermediate layer 12 from the belt 50 by rolling, which may be necessary in certain cases, a transverse beam 7b is attached to the rail 7a, to which the housing 8 is attached by means of rods 56, as can be seen from FIG that a parallelogram is formed.
One of the rods 56 is pulled against the pin 58 by the spring 57, whereby the housing 8 with the intermediate layer 12 is pulled into its working position. The rolling of the strip 50 can be supported by a wedge rail 59, provided that it sticks to the intermediate layer 12 and this is carried along by the strip due to its swing-out suspension.
Finally, FIG. 4 shows a variant embodiment of the lower beam 36a, which instead of pivoting the shaft 42 is mounted in inclined guides 60 and 61 and is pulled into the rest position by means of the spring 62 against the stop 63. In this embodiment too, the punch 36 can make a movement in which its intermediate position 38 is released from the belt 50 by rolling.
