1 désigne le corps d'une brosse 1, 1', telle que celle qu'on utilise pour brosser un par quet, par exemple. Le dos 2 du corps 1 de cette brosse est plat. Sur le milieu de ce dos est fixée, par des vis 3 à 6, la base 7 d'une pièce en [J en un matériau résistant dont 8 et 9 désignent les bras parallèles et 10 le fond. 11 désigne le manche de la brosse. La base de ce manche présente, sur ses côtés avoisinant les bras 8 et 9, des garnitures métalliques 12 et 13, planes du côté desdits bras et parallèles à ces derniers, et fixées sur ledit manche par forçage d'ailerons à griffes 14 à 17 dans la masse de ce dernier qui est en bois, par exem ple.
Un boulon 18, dont 19 désigne la tête et 20 l'écrou de serrage à ailettes, traverse les bras 8 et 9 de la pièce en U, les garnitures 1.2 et 13 et le bas du manche perpendiculaire ment à ces pièces. Ce boulon sert d'axe de rotation au manche dans le plan médian de la brosse.
La base du manche 11 est arrondie en 22 vers le haut et parallèlement à l'axe de rota tion du manche, à partir du point de contact médian 21 de cette base avec, le fond 10 de la pièce en [J jusqu'à un point 13' du manche situé plus haut dans le plan médian de ce dernier et sur la génératrice du manche oppo sée à celle sur laquelle est situé le point de contact 21.
Si l'on doit employer la brosse pour frot ter un parquet sous un meuble, par exemple, on desserre l'écrou 20 et l'on fait tourner le manche autour du boulon 18 dans le sens de la flèche IV, et on l'arrête, au moyen de l'écrou de serrage 20, dans une des positions I, II ou III selon la nécessité.

A bolt 18, 19 of which designates the head and 20 the winged clamping nut, passes through the arms 8 and 9 of the U-piece, the linings 1.2 and 13 and the bottom of the handle perpendicular to these parts. This bolt serves as the axis of rotation for the handle in the midplane of the brush.
The base of the handle 11 is rounded at 22 upwards and parallel to the axis of rotation of the handle, from the median point of contact 21 of this base with, the bottom 10 of the part at [J up to a point 13 'of the handle located higher in the median plane of the latter and on the generator of the handle opposite to that on which the contact point 21 is located.
If the brush is to be used to scrub a parquet under a piece of furniture, for example, the nut 20 is loosened and the handle is rotated around the bolt 18 in the direction of the arrow IV, and then stops, by means of the tightening nut 20, in one of the positions I, II or III as required.
