Dans la montre faisant l'objet de l'inven tion, on a cherché à éviter ces inconvénients en n'utilisant ni cliquets ni pignons baladeurs. Cette montre est en effet caractérisée par un pignon denté, monté coaxialement à l'axe de pivotement de la masse et solidaire de cette nernière;
Watch with automatic winding by moving mass. The object of the present invention is a watch with automatic winding by moving mass in which the winding takes place in both directions of rotation of the mass.
There are currently many self-winding watches in which winding is carried out in both directions of rotation of a moving mass, that is to say either of an oscillating mass, or of a rotor or mass. rotating or rotary. We have in fact already imagined. many devices capable of converting reciprocating rotary movements into rotations all directed in the same direction.
For example, a mechanism is known comprising two pawls integral with the mass and held in engagement with two wheels meshing with each other, one of these wheels driving the barrel shaft. A reversing mechanism is also known consisting of two pinions engaged with one another and mounted on a rocker, the latter bringing one or the other of said pinions into engagement with a coaxial toothed wheel and integral with the mass,
the pinion which is not in engagement with this wheel driving an intermediate mobile itself driving the barrel shaft. Reversing mechanisms have also been constructed consisting of a sliding pinion still engaged with the wheel mounted on the mass, said sliding pinion engaging, according to the direction of rotation of the mass, with one or the other of two wheels. one engages the other and one of which drives the barrel shaft. The sliding pinion can be mounted in this case on a rocker, for example. Finally, more or less complicated ratchet mechanisms have been constructed, in which an anchor-shaped lever is actuated by a cam-shaped part, mounted on the axis of the mass.
The drawbacks of ratchet devices are generally known and manufacturers seek to replace them wherever possible. As for devices comprising one or more sliding pinions, it is a question of providing preventing members. the teeth of these pinions cause locking of the mechanism when these pinions engage with a fixed mobile.
In the watch forming the subject of the invention, attempts have been made to avoid these drawbacks by using neither pawls nor sliding pinions. This watch is in fact characterized by a toothed pinion, mounted coaxially with the pivot axis of the mass and integral with this nernière;
this pinion is engaged with two toothed wheels, each rigidly mounted on one. shaft of a coupling mechanism such that this shaft drives a second toothed wheel, free, rotated idly on it, only in one direction of rotation, the latter wheel being free when the shaft turns in the other direction , the driving directions of the two freewheels by their respective shafts being opposite and the two freewheels meshing with each other, one of said freewheels driving the ar bre of the barrel of the watch.
The coupling mechanism. with, preferred freewheel is constituted by a friction device disposed inside a circular recess of the freewheel, and by means which said shaft has for making a part of said device press against the lateral wall. of said hollow and driving the freewheel pivoted on said shaft, thanks to the friction developed between said device and said wall when the shaft rotates in one direction with respect to said freewheel, the same means moving said device away from said wall and deflecting the freewheel of the shaft when the latter turns in the other direction.
Such a mechanism is described in detail in Swiss patent N 298232.
The appended drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment and a variant of the watch forming the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a partial plan cule of this embodiment, in which only the components necessary for understanding the invention have been shown.
The @ fig. 2 is a section along the line II-II of FIG. 1, and fig. 3 is. a plan view of the overrunning clutch mechanism used in said variant.
In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 1. and 2, the moving winding mass 1 is pivoted on an axis 2 located at the center of the watch movement. This axis could however be placed at any point of the movement. A toothed pinion 3 pivoted on the axis 2 and integral with the mass 1 is engaged with two toothed wheels 4 and 5. The latter are riveted to shafts 6 and 7 pivoted in the lower 8 and upper 9 bridges of the mechanism. automatic winding. A second toothed wheel 10 is rotated idle on shaft 6, while a second wheel 11 is riveted to a pinion 12, rotated idle on shaft 7. The two freewheels 10 and 11 mesh with one another. with the other and the pinion 12 drags an intermediate wheel 13 whose pin gnon 14 drives the ratchet 15 of the barrel.
The freewheel 10 has a circular ereusure 16, the side wall 17 of which is smooth. A plate 18 in the form of a circular crown is. housed inside this recess and approximately fills it. all the space. The inner diameter of this plate is slightly larger than the diameter of the shaft 6, while its outer diameter is slightly smaller than that of the recess 16 of the wheel 10. Its thickness is slightly less than the depth of the hollow. Halfway between the shaft and the side wall of the recess, a circular cutout 19 is made in said pla that.
The latter is further cut into substantially next. the radius of the wheel, passing through the center of the cutout 19. This cutout 20 is widened on the side of the shaft and forms a housing 21 containing a nose 22 manufactured with the shaft.
A lever 23, the thickness of which is substantially equal to that of said plate, is housed inside the cutouts 19 and 20, in the same plane as this plate. This lever has a circular part in the form of a ball joint 24, adapting to the shape of the corresponding cutout 19 of said plate. The lever 23 is thus articulated in this plate and can pivot around its ball joint. This lever comprises, in addition, two arms 25 and 26. The inner arm 25 is arranged substantially along a radius of the wheel 10, while the outer arm 26 forms an obtuse angle with this direction. The two arms are attached to the patella at substantially diametrical points and: they form between them an angle close to 180.
A cover 27, retained in a shoulder 28 of the wheel 10, holds the plate 18 and the lever 23 in place inside the recess 16.
The operation of this coupling mechanism to. freewheel is clearly visible. of its description and in particular of FIG. 1. When the shaft 6 is indeed turning senestror- sum, its nose 22, housed outside the angle defined by the arms 25 and 26 of the lever 23, presses against the end of the arm 25 and rotates the shaft. lever 23 dextrorsum around its ball joint 24. As a result, the end of the arm 26 presses against the side wall 17 of the recess 16.
The friction generated between the end of this lever arm 26 and said wall ensures the drive of the wheel 10 with the shaft 6.
When the shaft 6 turns dextrorsum, the nose 2.2 presses against the bottom of the housing 21 and drives the plate 18 which in turn drives the lever 23. If the end of the arm 26 is still in contact with the wall 17, the The lever simply swings senestrorsum around its ball joint, thus disengaging the freewheel 10 of the shaft 6.
The wheel 11 has a recess 29 identical to that of the wheel 10. In this recess are housed a plate 30 and a lever 31 identical to the plate 18 and to the lever 23. The shaft 7 is also provided with a nose 32 intended to actuate the lever 31. A cover 33 here also retains the members 30 and 31 in place inside the recess 29.
The only difference between the two mechanisms mounted on the shafts 6 and 7 lies in the fact that the plate and the lever which are inside the recess of the wheel 10 are arranged so that this wheel 10 is dragged by the shaft 6 when the latter turns senestrorsum, while the plate and the lever provided inside the recess of the wheel 11 are arranged so that the latter is driven by the shaft 7 when the latter turns dextrorsum.
When the mass 1 performs a dextrorsum rotation, the pinion 3 drives the wheels 4 and .5 and with them the senestrorsum shafts 6 and 7. Of the two freewheels 1.0 and 11, only the wheel 10 is driven by the shaft 6, tan say that the wheel 11 is disengaged. The latter, however, is driven by the dextrorsum wheel 10, in which direction it can turn freely. This wheel 11 in turn drives the intermediate wheel 13 senestrorsum.
If the mass 1 performs on the contrary a senestrorsum rotation, the pinion 3 drives the wheels 4 and 5 and with them the dextrorsum shafts 6 and 7. In this case, only the shaft 7 drags the freewheel 11. rotated on it, while the wheel 10 is disengaged from the shaft 6. This wheel 11 in turn drives the wheels 10 and 13 senestrorsum. In this case, the wheel 10 turns freely, since it is driven in a rotation in the opposite direction to that of its shaft 6.
This shows that the intermediate wheel 13 and with it the barrel shaft driven by the ratchet 15 always rotate in the same direction, regardless of the direction of rotation of the mass 1.
In a variant, provision has been made to replace the free wheel coupling mechanisms described above by other similar mechanisms, one of which is shown in FIG. 3. The latter is intended to replace the one mounted on the shaft 7 of FIGS. 1 and 2.
The plate 30 and the lever 31 are replaced in this case by the two members 34 and 35 formed by plates in the form of circular half-rings. These two members fill approximately the entire space defined by the recess 29, between the shaft and the side wall 44 of this recess. These two plates have the same thickness, which corresponds substantially to the depth of said recess. They are articulated one on the other at a point located approximately halfway between the shaft 36 and the wall 44. This articulation is provided by a projection 37 terminated by a ball-shaped portion 38 of the plate. 34, this ball joint being housed in a cutout 39 of corresponding shape in the plate 35.
In each of said plates is further cut a recess 40 having a face 41 disposed approximately along a radius and a face 42 inclined with respect to this radius. These two clearances serve to accommodate two noses 43 which have been manufactured with the shaft 36. The shape of these noses corresponds substantially to that of said clearances. They are located at key substantially diametral points of the shaft and the diameter defined by the housings 40 of these noses is substantially perpendicular to the radius passing through the center of the ball 38 when the mechanism is in place.
A cover holds the two plates 34 and 35 in place inside the recess 29. The operation of the mechanism which has just been described is similar to that shown in FIGS. 1 and 2.
When the shaft 36 turns dextrorsum, the rounded faces of the noses, resting against the corresponding inclined faces 42 of their housings, tend to separate the two plates 34 and 35 from each other, thus pressing their outer side faces. against the side wall -14 of the recess 29 of the wheel 11, and thereby generating friction between these plates and said wall, which friction ensures the drive of the wheel 11.
When the shaft 36 turns on the contrary senestrorsum, the radial faces of the noses 43 pressed against the corresponding faces 41 of their housings and the two plates 34 and 35 turn alone with the shaft 36 leaving the wheel 11 free.
The freewheel coupling mechanism provided on the shaft 6 in fig. 1 and 2 is, in this variant, also replaced by a mechanism similar to that shown in fig. 3, with the. The only difference is that the noses integral with the shaft and the clearances made in the plates and serving as housing for these noses are. arranged so that the wheel 10 is driven by its shaft when the latter turns senestrorsum and disengaged in the other direction.
Since one and. the other of the freewheel mechanisms which have just been described ensure almost immediate engagement and disengagement of the freewheels, the winding of the watch will practically take place. without lost path for any oscillations of the mass. The smallest oscillations may still contribute to the remounting.
