Process for the production of a vat dye. It has been found that a valuable vat dye is obtained if a 1,8-dihaloanthraquinone is condensed on the one hand with 4 - aminoanthraquinone - 2,1 (N) - benzolacridone and on the other hand with 1-amino-4-benzoylamino anthraquinone.
The new dye forms a dark blue powder that dissolves in concentrated sulfuric acid with a yellowish olive green color and dyes cotton from an orange-brown vat in gray tones.
In the present process, 1,8-dichloroanthrachilone is advantageously used as the 1,8-Dilialogenantliracliinoil. The reactions of the 1,8-dihaloanthraquinone with the two Aminoaiithraehinonverbindungen can be carried out simultaneously or preferably close to one another, for example by first adding the 1,8-dihaloanthraquinone.
with the 4 - aminoanthracllinone - 2,1 (N) - benzolacridone and the dianthrimide thus obtained is then condensed with the 1-aniino-4-benzoylamino-anthraquinone. These reactions can take place in high-boiling solvents that do not react with the starting materials, e.g. B. in nitrobenzene or naphthalene, be carried out, expediently in the presence of übli Chen, the anthrimide promoting Ka catalysts such as copper and copper salts.
Example: In a finely powdered state, 13.8 parts of 1,8-dichloroanthraquinone, 17.5 parts of 4-aminoanthraehinone-1 (N), 2-, 1 ', 2' (N) -benzene- acridone, 5 parts of anhydrous sodium acetate,?, 5 parts of magnesium oxide and 1.5 parts of copper chloride were added to 135 parts of nitrobenzene. The mixture is heated and stirred while gently boiling until the starting products have disappeared. After cooling to about 90, it is suctioned off.
The residue is purified by treatment with alcohol, dilute hydrochloric acid and water and then dried. The yield is 80 to 90% of theory. The compound is a dark greenish-blue powder that dissolves in concentrated sulfuric acid with a brownish-yellow color.
In the finely powdered state, 17.45 parts of the product obtained, 10.8 parts of 1-amino-4-benzoylaminoanthi, acliinone, 3 parts of anhydrous sodium acetate, 1.5 parts of magnesium oxide and 1 part of copper chloride with 140 parts of naphthalene mixed. Heat and stir. the melt boiling gently until the starting products have disappeared.
Then allowed to cool to 160, diluted with 140 parts of 1-ionochlorobenzene and stirred for one hour at 140 to 150. After cooling to about 90, it is suctioned off. The residue is treated with 1VZono- ehlorbenzol, then with. Alcohol, with. diluted hydrochloric acid and finally cleaned with water and then dried. The yield is 85 to 95% of theory.
