Installation process for the manufacture of wooden soles for clogs. The present invention relates to a process and an installation for the production of wooden soles for clogs in two cutting operations.
As is known, most of the current methods of manufacturing soles of its bots include more than two cutting operations.
The method according to the invention consists in submitting the part to be worked on to a first milling operation to obtain the reduction in thickness of the part and cut a notch on one side of this part for the formation of the heel, after whereby the workpiece is subjected to a second milling operation for its profiling and the finishing of the profile.
The installation according to the invention for the. implementation of this method comprises two machines, the first of which is arranged to perform the milling reducing the thickness and forming the heel, while the second machine is arranged to perform the profiling milling and the finishing of the profile of the sole by means of a force to be copied.
The drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of an installation for the implementation of an embodiment of the method according to the invention as well. given as an example.
Figs. 1 and 2 are respectively a front view and a side view of the first machine of this embodiment of the installation.

The fit, -. 8 is a side view of the second machine of this embodiment of the invention.
Figs. 9 and 10 are two cross sections of the machine taken along line X-X of FIG. 8, looking at. left and respectively to the right of said line.
Fig. 11 is a section, on an enlarged scale, of the milling head of the same machine.
Fig. 12 is a front view of the latter.
Fig. 13 shows in particular a knife.
Fig. 14 is a section through a completed hoof sole. Fig. 15 schematically shows the operation of the copying device of the second machine.
The machine shown in fig. 1 and 2 includes a. frame 1, provided, at its upper side, with a bearing 2, in which rotates the horizontal shaft of a milling head 4 housed in a box 3 and actuated by an electric motor 5. This head 4, having the disc shape, carries six removable c knives.
On the front of the frame 1 is articulated at 6a a support 6 '(fig. 1a) comprising two elements articulated with one another at 6b and carrying at its free end a pivot 7 mounted so as to be able to rotate freely. relative to the corresponding element of the support.
This pivot 7 carries him at its upper end. Fixing vise 8 for clamping the workpiece, tan say that it carries at its lower end a template 9 for copying (fig. 1, 2, 4, 5, 6). The fixing vise comprises two toothed jaws 8a, 8b, the upper jaw 8b moving vertically.
This movement is controlled by the lever 10 actuating the eccentric 10a, in order to quickly obtain the necessary pressure. The barit 9 is formed by a blade provided with a rib and having a shape reproducing the shape in thickness of the sole; this shape is repeated in the jaws 8a, 8b of the fixing vice 8. The jig 9 is.
provided with holes to fix one or the other of the different pieces t (fig. 4) reproducing the heel, making it possible to obtain, without changing the template, the various numbers of desired size of the soles, and -Lut certain name bre of sole shapes, by changing the location of the part t.
The jig 9 being carried by the articulated support is released by hand by the worker until it touches the wedge-shaped guide 11 (fig. 4), which is placed in a lower opening of the frame. 1. In the first step of the first milling operation the ga barit 9 is guided by the right side, and secondly by the left side of the guide 11.
The jig moves the vice 8, to which it is connected by means of the pi vot 7, and consequently the workpiece fixed to the vice is milled by the head 4 so that its thickness is reduced and that 'a notch is cut on one side of this piece to form the heel. The second machine of the installation shown (fig. 8, 9, 10) comprises a frame 12 provided, on the upper side, with a support 13 movable vertically by means of a slide 6 mounted in this frame. adjustable way.
On the support 13 is mounted the rotary milling head 14 (fig. 12), which is controlled by an electric motor 15, and which has the shape of a disc carrying six knives cl, the cutting edge of which is curved. Each knife presents - as can be seen in fig. 13 - two or more openings jz (fig. 3) for its attachment to the head 14.
Since the profiling of the sole is carried out by the head 14, the edge of this sole is not straight, but concave, in section in an arc of a circle, the radius of which is the same as that of the circle described by the knives. c, A horizontal disc 16 (fig. 9, 8, 15), arranged below the rotary milling head 14 is fixed on a shaft 16a mounted in ball bearings so as to turn around an axis vertical. Next to the frame 12 is an easel 17 (fig. 8, 10) which is connected to the frame 12 by means of two round slides 18 and a spacer rod 19 (fig. 8, 9).
A carriage 20 is mounted so as to slide on the slides 18 and carries it. vertical shaft at the lower end of which is fixed a shape to be copied 21 reproducing the profile of the sole (fig. 8, 10, 15) and at the upper end a support 22 for the workpiece which is held by hand on this support 22 by means of a support or gane 23, arranged at the upper part of the carriage and controlled by an elbow lever 24.
The support member 23 carries at one of its two ends a device 25 consisting of an interchangeable punch for the numbering of the soles. An electric motor 26 (fig. 8) gives the shaft por both the shape to be copied and the support of the workpiece a rotation of about six revolutions per minute. The form to be copied 21 is maintained in contact with the edge of the disc 16 by a counterweight acting on the carriage 20.
The rotation of the form 21 forces this carriage to move forward and backward on the slides 18 and thus the workpiece is presented to the milling head 1-1 at successive different points. This milling head thus performs the profiling of the sole and, at the same time, the finishing of this profile, the cut obtained by means of this milling head giving. a sufficiently smooth surface of the edge of the seam.
The counterweight 27 acting on the carriage is suspended from a chain 28 winding on a pulley 29 and connected to the carriage 20 on the side facing the frame 12, after having passed over another pulley not shown, so that the carriage is always pulled in the direction applying the shape to be copied 21, which is on the lower side of the slide 2 0, against the edge of the disc 16.
