Description
Tourbillon escapement wristwatch movement. The object of the present invention is a wristwatch movement with a tourbillon escapement. This movement is characterized by the fact that the escape wheel is driven by at least one intermediate wheel mounted in the cage and cooperating with a fixed ring gear with internal teeth, so as to gain space in height.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the watch movement forming the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a cross section of the tourbillon escapement.
Fig. 2 is an axial section of the cage. Fig. 3 is a plan view of the cage. Fig. 4 is a plan view of the movement.
In the embodiment shown, the watch movement comprises a balance 1, the axis 2 of which is mounted on bearings between a cock 3 and a plate 4, these two elements each forming a common base for the shoulders of the balance shaft and for the bearings of the cage 5 of the tourbillon escapement.
The bearings of the balance are of a known anti-shock type. The stop barrels 6 of these bearings are driven into the body 6a of the corresponding bearing and have an outer cylindrical part 7 forming the fixed pivots of the cage. This carries two pierced stones 8 coming to engage on the cylindrical parts 7. The flat outer surface of these stones cooperates with a shoulder 9 which each of the rings 6. The escapement wheels, of known type, are mounted. in the cage and driven by a first wheel 10, the pinion 11 of which cooperates with a fixed ring gear with internal teeth 12 integral with the plate 4.
The cage comprises a lower flange 5 carrying an intermediate bridge 5a (Fig. 1 and 2). The anchor 13, the escape wheel 14 and the wheel 10 are pivoted in these parts 5 and 5a. The upper flange 15 of the cage is perforated and carries the eyebolt 16 and the racket 17. The latter carries a key 18 for adjusting the free length of the hairspring 19, key cooperating with two pins 20 of the hairspring support, the whole in order to equalize the hangman's march compared to the flat one.
The cage is set in motion by the ba rillet 22, via a large medium 23, a small medium 24 and a second pinion 25 placed in the center, or in a variant over six hours in 25a, integral with a pinion 26 which is coaxial with it and attacking an external toothing 21 provided at the periphery of the cage. In the embodiment shown, the seconds pinion 25 is placed in the center, the large average 23 is offset from the center, and the barrel also drives an independent center pinion 27, which drives the timer (see fig. 1 and 4).
The advantage of the clockwork movement described is that it allows a timepiece with a tourbillon to be produced, but of normal height. Indeed, the fixed ring gear 12 is generally with external toothing and located below the cage, which loses space in height. On the other hand, the fact that the bearings of the cage and of the balance have a common base produces a gain in height corresponding to the thickness of the base saved, this on both sides.
