Motor spring development indicator device for a self-winding watch. The wearer of a so-called running day watch regularly winds it in the evening or in the morning, so that a mechanism indicating the development of the mainspring is superfluous.
The self-winding wristwatch has undergone significant development in recent years, which will continue to grow. However, the wearer of such a watch has no means of knowing the power reserve of his watch, the latter having to wind itself up, in general by the movements made by the wearer. These movements may however be insufficient to wind the watch, which will then stop suddenly. A mechanism indicating the development of the mainspring is therefore very useful in self-winding or double-winding watches.
The present invention relates to a device for indicating the development of the mainspring for a self-winding watch, comprising a differential gear. This device is characterized in that the two gear trains leading, one from the barrel cover to the differential gear, the other from the barrel shaft to the differential gear, each comprise at least one pinion and a wheel, these wheels and pinions having respectively the same diameter and the same number of teeth, and in that a stop is provided for the indicator member. The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the device according to the invention.
Fig. 1 schematically represents this device seen in plan on the dial side.
Fig. 2 shows this device seen in section along the broken line II-II of the. fig. 1. The shaft of the barrel of the watch is signed by 1. This shaft carries at its end a pinion 2 which is integral with it and which grates with a pinion 3; the latter pivots freely on a journal 4 carried by a bridge 5 screwed onto the plate designated by 6. The pinions 2 and 3 are of the same size.
The pinion 3 meshes with a wheel 7 integral with a pinion 8. This pinion 8 rotates freely around an axis 9, carrying the indicator needle designated by 10, and meshes with a wheel 11 which is itself integral with 'a pinion 12; the latter drives a wheel 13 integral with the axis 9. This axis 9 pivots, on the one hand, in the plate 6 and, on the other hand, in a bridge 14 fixed on the plate. The cover 15 of the barrel carries a pinion 16 of the same diameter and the same number of teeth as the pinions 2 and 3; this pinion 16 meshes with a wheel 17 which has the same diameter and the same number of teeth as the wheel 7; this wheel 17 turns freely around the shaft 9 of the needle 10; it carries a journal 18 acting as a pivot to the satellite mobile 11-12.
During operation, the pinion 8 is fixed and as a result of the movement of the satellite around the pinion 8, the wheel 11 is driven by a rotational movement which it transmits to the wheel 13 via the pinion 12.
A pin 19 (fig. 1) serves as a stopper for the hand 10 and prevents it from moving when the automatic winder continues to act after the spring has been completely wound up, then operating a device not shown, intended for avoid over-tensioning the spring, such as, for example, mounting the spring in the barrel by friction. This pin 19 can be fixed to the plate or to the dial of the watch.
According to the dimensions adopted for the whole of this device, and according to the position provided for the ball, the hand 10 indicating the development of the mainspring will be placed on the 12 o'clock 6 o'clock axis of the watch, on 6 o'clock or at noon, or on the 3 o'clock 9 o'clock axis over 3 or 9 o'clock.
This device can be applied to any watch, in particular wristwatches.
