Waterproof watch case. The object of the present invention is a waterproof watch case comprising two parts removably assembled to one another and held by an elastic clamping device, characterized in that this clamping device comprises at least one split deformable ring. in height,
maintained axially in a groove made in one of the parts and acting by an inner conical surface on an outer conical surface of the other part under the action of at least one spring housed between the bottom of the groove and the ring and exerting on it a radial pressure inwardly.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of the waterproof watch case forming the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is an axial half-section and the fi-. 2 a radial half-section along line II-II of FIG. 1.
Referring to the drawing, 1 is a bezel-case and 2 is a waterproof watch case back; these two parts are removably assembled to one another and held by an elastic clamping device. The caseband-bezel 1 has, on the back side, a cylindrical sleeve 3 having on the outside a conical beat on which is hooked by its inner face cone 8, a ring 4 split in 6 according to its height and adjusted in a groove 5 , with rectangular cross section, made in the edge of the bottom 2.
Between the bottom of the groove 5 and the split ring 4 is disposed a wavy split annular spring 7 bearing on the bottom of the groove by the outer tops of its corrugations and exerting on the split ring 4 a radial pressure. from outside to inside. A package 9 ensures the seal between the outer surface of the caseband-bezel 1 and the edge of the back 2.
The latter is elastically pressed towards the middle by the spring 7, because, due to the cooperation of the two conical surfaces, the radial pressure exerted by the spring has an axial component.
One can obviously have recourse to other forms of springs, provided that they exert on the split ring 4 a radial pressure inward.
It goes without saying that the conical beat can be provided at the bottom and that the groove to axially maintain the split ring and the spring can be made in the middle part.
It also goes without saying that the same device can be applied to the assembly of a bezel and a middle part or of a crystal and a bezel and, in general, to the assembly of any two parts. of a round or shaped watch case. In the case of a shaped watch, the spring and the split ring will have an outline conforming to that of the case.
