      Verfahren        zur        Herstellung        eines    gerbend     wirkenden    Produktes.    Das vorliegende Patent     betrifft    ein Ver  fahren zur Herstellung eines neuen gerb  stoffartigen     Produktes    und ist dadurch ge  kennzeichnet, dass man ein     chromhaltiges    ge  schwefeltes Phenol, welches durch Erhitzen  von Phenol mit Schwefel in     Gegenwart    von  Alkali und eines     Chromsalzes    erhältlich ist,

    in     wässeriger    Lösung in Gegenwart von  Alkali unter Druck bei Temperaturen über  100  C     mit    Sauerstoff     oxydiert.       <I>Beispiel:</I>    90 Teile Phenol, 60 Teile     Natrium-          hydroxyd,    60 Teile Schwefel,

   40 Teile  Chromsulfat und 100 Teile Wasser werden  während 30 Stunden     auf    107-108 C am       Rückfluss    erhitzt und das     entstandene    Kon  densationsprodukt     mit    Sauerstoff bei 12-15       Atti        und    bei 140-145 C     oxydiert.    Nach         Filtration        und    Eindampfen erhält man ein       hellbraunes,    leicht wasserlösliches,

       chrom-          haltiges    und     etwas    hygroskopisches Pulver       mit    stark gerbenden     Eigenschaften.

PATENTANSPRUCH: Verfahren' zur Herstellung eines neuen, gerbstoffartigen Produktes, dadurch gekenn zeichnet, dass man ein chromhaltiges, ge schwefeltes Phenol, welches durch Erhitzen von Phenol mit Schwefel in Gegenwart von Alkali und eines Chromsalzes erhältlich ist, in wässeriger Lösung in Gegenwart von Al kali unter Druck bei Temperaturen über 100 C mit Sauerstoff oxydiert. Die neue Verbindung ist ein hellbraunes, leicht wasserlösliches, chromhaltiges und etwas hygroskopisches Pulver mit stark ger benden Eigenschaften.
