Description

Rolling ladder intended to be guided by a suspension rail. The object of the present invention is a rolling ladder, intended to be guided by a suspension rail fixed rigidly above the ground.

This ladder is characterized by the fact that the uprights provided with steps are articulated around a horizontal axis on a carriage comprising two bogies spaced from one another and whose rollers are mounted so as not to be able to leave the rail. .

The accompanying drawing represents, schematically and by way of example, an embodiment of the ladder which is the subject of the invention.

Fig. 1 is a partial elevation view of the upper part, and FIG. 2 is a section along II-II of FIG. 1.

Fig. 3 is a partial elevation view of the lower part, and FIG. 4 is a section along IV-IV of FIG. 3.

In the form shown, the scale com takes two uprights formed of two tubes 1 and 2 welded together at their ends. Wooden steps 3 are fixed between the mats. These are fitted at their lower end with a wheel 4.

At their upper end; the uprights have a suspension rod 5 articulated in a carriage 6 and fitting telescopically into the tube 1 of the upright.

The stroke of the rod 5 in the tube 1 is limited by a suspension device, not shown, comprising a stop determining the rest (vertical) and working (inclined) positions and a suspension spring with adjustable tension making it possible to adjust the weight suspended from the trolley, @ the weight of the uprights and steps being partly supported by the casters 4.

The carriage 6 comprises a relatively long casing enclosing two ineradicable bogies 7 each having two grooved rollers engaging respectively on the upper edge and under the lower edge of a flat bar 8 forming a rigid suspension rail. The pivot axis of these bogies coincides with the vertical axis of the cross section of the rail. This carriage also comprises a brake, not shown, comprising a shoe acting on the rail and which can be controlled either by a lever or automatically by placing the ladder in the working position, that is to say by tilting. the uprights as shown in fig. 4.

The advantage of this ladder is its great maneuverability and safe operation, without any jamming. The passage of curves, in particular, is done effortlessly thanks to the two bogies of the trolley.

The extended carriage with two bogies relatively spaced apart from one another avoids any risk of the carriage jamming on the rail, and the suspension device with telescopable spring uprights supporting most of the weight of the uprights and steps avoids any possibility of jamming between the rail and the ground.

As a variant, one could also provide solid feet without wheels, because the suspension springs make it possible to easily lift the uprights to move the ladder.

Telescopic feet could also be provided for installations in which the floor is at different heights.
