The present invention relates to a tobacco elevator.
In a presently known embodiment, relating to a tobacco elevator, there is a question of an installation provided with a pulley mounted on a false floor located under the roof of a shed. The pulley serving as a pivot point for a rope which is actuated by a person placed at the level of the false floor, and which thus definitively fixes the upper part of a string of tobacco for drying; in addition a second person is on the ground for the preparation and the fixing of the tobacco sleepers.
As one can quickly see, the main disadvantage of this execution is that it is necessary to have two people, one of whom placed several meters from the ground is in a dangerous position.
In another presently known embodiment, there is a question of a lifting arm actuated by electrical means and mounted on a central support which is placed in a central position with respect to the plane of the various ropes.
This execution has the disadvantage of not being able to go back when it is necessary to resume strings of tobacco which are already dry.
We therefore sought to remedy the drawbacks mentioned above, by presenting a simple and functional tobacco elevator, and which also allows the ropes to be hooked to the ridge of the roof without having an additional person, in addition it is naturally possible, by due to the mounting of the central support, to go back or to assemble two lifting arms simultaneously.
The tobacco elevator, object of the present invention is characterized in that it comprises a movable carriage supporting a carrier section intended to be positioned between two rows of tobacco and which is provided with at least one movable lifting arm comprising a interchangeable mounting mechanism.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example and very schematically, an embodiment of the object of the present invention.
Fig. 1 is a schematic elevational view conforming to the elevator.
Fig. 2 shows a schematic profile view according to lafig. 1.
Fig. 3 shows a partial cutaway view of an alternative embodiment of a setting mechanism.
With reference to FIGS. 1 and 2, a description will now be given of the tobacco elevator, object of the present invention, which comprises a central carriage 1, mounted in sections 2-3 which are positioned between two rows of tobacco 4- 5 which are fixed to hooks 6-7-8 welded to the 2-3-9 sections which are an integral part of the hangar frame (not shown).
As shown in figure 2, the central carriage 1 rolls, by
known means and therefore not described in sections 2-3. The central carriage 1 is further provided with a supporting section 12 which supports a sliding sleeve 13 which is
provided with a lifting arm 14 receiving the setting mechanisms 15-16 and the positioning mechanisms 17-18.
The sliding sleeve 13 is still arranged so as to
receive a motor 19 which causes the rise (arrow A) or
the descent (arrow B) of the lifting arm 14 controlled by the
table 20 adjustable on the support profile 12.
The principle of operation is as follows:
The operator (not shown) stands on floor 22 and adjusts
the control panel 20 within reach, then he places the
crosses 23 in the setting supports 15-16, respectively in the notch 21, and actuates the motor 19 which causes the lifting arm 14 to rise in the direction of the arrow A; then the operator places the ties 24-25 on the ropes 2627 and so on.
When all the cross members are adjusted on the ropes 2627, the cross member 23 will be near the level of the hooks 78, the operator, if necessary, raises the support arm 14 so that the cross member 23 comes to the same level as hooks 7-8 and from this moment the operator pushes the whole elevator in the direction of arrow C (fig. 2) so that the cross member 23 abuts against the inside 28 of the hooks 7-8.
By means of the control panel 20, the operator lowers the lifting arm 14, respectively the crosspiece 23 which thus is trapped in the hooks 7-8 which block in this temporary position the line 10 of tobacco for drying.
The operation can be repeated for the following hooks as soon as the carrier arm 14 is at operator level.
Fig. 3 shows an alternative embodiment of the setting mechanism comprising an element 30 machined so as to have several notches 31-32 for the dependence of the ropes, in addition the element 30 is further provided with a self-locking pin 33 which allows the setting. of the element 30 on the support arm 34.
To avoid any risk of accidents, the carriage 1 can be provided with a known longitudinal positioning mechanism and therefore not described, which allows the supporting section 12 to always be at a determined distance from the hooks 6 and 6 ', respectively. in a position E (fig. 2) which thus prevents the cross member 23 from striking, when the lifting arm 14 rises, the hooks 7-8.
In another variant embodiment, it is possible to have a supporting arm pivoting on the left side (fig. 1) or two supporting arms at the same level.
It will also be recalled that it is possible to have transverse slides so as to have a single carriage for the whole of the tobacco shed.
