Abstract

Hook device for suspending quarters of meat, comprising a suspension device 5 provided with rollers 6 rolling on rails of a handling installation and comprising hooks 14 for hooking up quarters of meat, characterised in that the hooks 14 are articulated on a first intermediate piece 13 in the form of a balance arm which is itself suspended from the suspension device 5 by an articulation 8 to 12, and in that from the said first piece 13, in the form of a balance arm, is suspended at least one second piece 19 in the form of a balance arm connected to the ends of the first piece 13 by flexible linking elements 20 and on which hooks 14 are also articulated.

Description

 The present invention relates to hooked devices for suspending quarters of meat and relates more particularly to multiple hooks called "swings", intended to be used in particular for the transport of quarters of mutton.

 The swings used until now generally comprise a hanger provided with lateral hooks rigidly fixed to the hanger and arranged in a star around the latter. The hanger comprises at its end opposite the hooks, rollers intended to roll on the rails of a handling installation.

Swings of this type have the disadvantage of being very dangerous when empty.

 In fact, when they are driven by the handling devices, their hooks move at the level of the head and shoulders of the service personnel, which constitutes a significant risk of accidents.

 In addition, they risk catching by their hooks, either to each other, or to fixed elements of the installation, which causes deformations of these hooks, sometimes making them even more dangerous and reducing their effectiveness.

 The invention aims to remedy the drawbacks of the devices of the prior art by creating a hooked device which combines good efficiency with increased safety in use.

 It therefore has for object- a hooked device for the suspension of quarters of meat comprising a hanger provided with rollers on rails of a handling installation and comprise hooks for the attachment of quarters of meat, characterized in that that the hooks are articulated on a first intermediate piece in the form of a flail, itself suspended from the hanger by an articulation and in that in said first part in the form of a flail is suspended at least a second part in the form of a flail connected to the ends of the first part by flexible connecting elements and on which hooks are also articulated.

Other characteristics of the invention will appear during the description which follows, given solely by way of example and made with reference to the appended drawings, in which:

- Fig.2 is a perspective view of a hooked device according to the invention; and
- Fig.3 is an elevational view of a variant of the hooked device according to the invention.

 As already indicated above, the hooked devices of the prior art comprise as shown in Fig.l, a hanger 1 provided with lateral hooks 2 attached to the hanger and arranged in a star around the latter. The hanger comprises at its end opposite the hooks rollers not shown intended to roll on rails of a handling installation. We see on the rig.l that the hanger 1 is constituted by a rigid rod to which the hooks 2 are rigidly fixed, so that it forms a relatively heavy assembly provided with sharp points which are at the height of the head and of the torso of the handling personnel. The devices of the prior art are therefore of relatively dangerous use, because when they are moved on the rails of a handling installation, they risk causing injuries. Furthermore, their hooks 2 rigidly fixed to the hanger 1 are subject to deformations which make them even more dangerous and less efficient.

 The hooks or swing device according to the invention is shown in Fig.2. It comprises a hanger 5 provided with rollers 6 for rolling on rails not shown of a handling installation and guide rollers 7. At the lower part of this hanger 5 consisting of a metal plate is rotatably mounted a rod ring 8. In the ring 8 is engaged a hook 9 of a piece 10 with double hook, whose hook 11 is introduced into a orifice 12 provided in the middle of a part 13 in the form of a balance beam. On part 13, equidistant from its point of attachment, are articulated two hooks 14 in the form of anchors mounted for rotation on 18 part 13 by means of of yokes 15 and of articulation axes 16. The hooks 14 each have two points 17 intended to receive quarters of meat not shown and directed for this purpose transversely to the part 13.

 Hanging from the ends of the flail-shaped part 13 is a second part 19 connected to the part 13, by flexible connecting elements such as steel cables 20 sheaths, the ends of which are provided with eyelets 21 engaged in corresponding holes made in parts 13 and 19. Part 19 is advantageously longer than part 13 so that the cables 20 are arranged obliquely between the ends of parts 13 and 19 and together form an isosceles trapezoid , which allows the double hooks 14 suspended from the part 13 a certain freedom of oscillation.

 It can be seen that the device which has just been described while having sufficient mechanical strength to support the weight of several quarters of meat, is very flexible due to the very fact that it is made up of a large number of articulated parts. to each other. As a result, striking one of the components of the device, it causes its only displacement relative to its pointed hinge, the other parts of the device remaining stationary. Consequently, the mass of the part of the device struck by the user is greatly reduced or the risk of injury to users becomes practically negligible.

 In Fig.3, there is shown a variant of the hooked device according to the invention which comprises, in addition to the two flail-shaped parts of the device of Fig.2, a third part 25 also in the form of a flail suspended by its ends at the ends of the part 19, by means of cables 26 similar to the cables 20 for connecting parts 13 and 19. The part 25 in turn carries a series of three hooks 14 in the form of anchors similar to the hooks suspended from parts 13 and 19. The hooks device of Fig.3 has an even greater handling capacity compared to that of Fig.2 and has the same safety of use as the latter.

Claims (3)

Fanged device for suspending quarters of meat comprising a hanger (5) provided with rollers (6) for rolling on rails of a handling installation and comprising hooks (14) for hanging quarters of meat , characterized in that the hooks (14) are articulated on a first intermediate part (13) in the form of a beam, itself suspended from the hanger (5) by an articulation (8 to 12) and in that at said first flail-shaped part (13) is suspended from at least one second flail-shaped part (19; 25) connected to the ends of the first part (13) by flexible connecting elements (2û; 26) and on which are also articulated fangs (14).  2. Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the hooks (14) are hooks in the form of two-point anchors (17) directed transversely to said parts (13,19,25) in the form of flails and each have a clevis (15) of articulation on the corresponding flail-shaped part (13,19; 25).  3. Device according to one of claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the flexible connection cements (20; 26) are constituted by sheathed steel cables, connected to the ends of said parts (13,19; 26) in shape of plagues by eyelets (21).
