Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Kondensationsproduktes. GegensIand des vorliegenden Patentes ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Konden sationsproduktes, das dadurch gekennzeichnet ist, .dass man Formaldehyd auf .ein Gemisch der drei isomeren Xylole und p-Toluol- sulfamid in saurem Medium einwirken lässt.
Das erhältliche, ölige bis harzartige Um setzungsprodukt ist mit Celluloseestern aus- gezeiohnet verträglich.
<I>Beispiel 1:</I> 1550 g -eines Gemisches der drei isomeren Xylole, 155 g p-Toluolsulfamid, 2930 g Formald-ehydlösung 30 %ig und 872 g Schwefelsäure<B>60'B6</B> werden in einem ,ge- schlossenen Autoklaven 6 Stunden unter Rühren auf 116-117 erhitzt.
Das entstan dene Kondensationsprodukt wird von der wässrigen Lösung abgetrennt, nachdem Ver dünnen mit Benzol mit Wasser gewaschen, mit Soda getrocknet, filtriert und durch Evakuieren bis 160 Innentemperatur bei 12 mm gereinigt. Es entsteht ein hellgelbes, zähflüssiges Harz. Ausbeute: 1780 g.
Beispiel <I>2:</I> 700g eines Gemisches der drei isomeren Xylole, 250 g p-Toluolsulfamid und 200 ,g Formaldehyd 30%ig werden auf etwa 95 erhitzt. Bei dieser Temperatur werden wäh rend 6 Stunden 1130 g Formaldehyd 30%ig und 770 g Schwefelsäure<B>60'B6</B> zugetropft. Während der Kondensation wird intensiv gerührt. Nach etwa 32 Stunden wird die Kondensation abgebrochen.
Das entstandene Harz wird abgetrennt, mit Benzol verdünnt und- wie im Beispiel 1 beschrieben aufgear beitet.
Ausbeute: 1014 g eines hellgelben zäh- festen, bei etwa 30 erweichenden Ifarzes. Durch Waschen mit etwa 20 % iger Natron lauge kann es vorn nicht einkonden8#iertem Toluolsulfamid befreit werden. Die Menge des nicht einkondensierten Toluolsulfamids beträgt 56 g.
Wind eine Probe des nicht gereinigten Kondensationsproduktes mit 0,2% Salz säure, Toluolsulfochl-ori,d oder Phosphorsäure 11/2 Stunden auf 170 erhitzt, so findet voll- ständige Einkondensation .des freien Toluol- sulfamids statt.
Beispiel <I>3:</I> 700<B>g</B> eines Gemisches der drei isameren Xylole, 350 g p-Taluolsulfamid und 200 g Formaldehyd 30%ig werden unter Rühren bei 95 mit 1130 g Formaldehyd 30 % ig und 770 g Schwefelsäure 60 B-6 während 6 Stun den versetzt. Anschliessend wird noch 32 Stun- den nachkondensiert unter schwachem Sieden am Rückfluss,
. Es wird Wie im Beispiel 2 beschrieben aufgearbeitet. Ausbeute: 1060 g eines hellen zähfesten Harzes.
Process for the production of a condensation product. The subject of the present patent is a process for the production of a condensation product, which is characterized in that formaldehyde is allowed to act on a mixture of the three isomeric xylenes and p-toluenesulfamide in an acidic medium.
The available, oily to resinous reaction product is extremely compatible with cellulose esters.
<I> Example 1: </I> 1550 g -a mixture of the three isomeric xylenes, 155 g p-toluenesulfamide, 2930 g formaldehyde solution 30% and 872 g sulfuric acid <B> 60'B6 </B> are in a closed autoclave heated to 116-117 for 6 hours with stirring.
The resulting condensation product is separated from the aqueous solution, after diluting with benzene, washed with water, dried with soda, filtered and cleaned by evacuation to an internal temperature of 12 mm. A light yellow, viscous resin is produced. Yield: 1780 g.
Example <I> 2: </I> 700 g of a mixture of the three isomeric xylenes, 250 g of p-toluenesulfamide and 200 g of 30% formaldehyde are heated to about 95%. At this temperature, 1130 g of 30% formaldehyde and 770 g of sulfuric acid are added dropwise over the course of 6 hours. Vigorous stirring is carried out during the condensation. The condensation is terminated after about 32 hours.
The resulting resin is separated off, diluted with benzene and processed as described in Example 1.
Yield: 1014 g of a light yellow, tough, resin that softens at about 30%. It can be freed from non-condensed toluenesulfamide by washing with about 20% sodium hydroxide solution. The amount of non-condensed toluenesulfamide is 56 g.
If a sample of the unpurified condensation product is heated to 170 for one and a half hours with 0.2% hydrochloric acid, toluenesulfochloride, or phosphoric acid, the free toluenesulfamide is condensed in completely.
Example <I> 3: </I> 700 <B> g </B> of a mixture of the three isameric xylenes, 350 g of p-taluenesulfamide and 200 g of 30% formaldehyde are mixed with 1130 g of 30% formaldehyde while stirring at 95% and 770 g of sulfuric acid 60 B-6 were added for 6 hours. This is followed by post-condensation for another 32 hours with gentle reflux,
. It is worked up as described in Example 2. Yield: 1060 g of a light-colored, tough resin.
