Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Monoarylsubstitutionsproduktes des Melamins. Vorliegendes Patent bezieht sich auf ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Monoaryl- substitutionsproduktes des Melamins, da durch gekennzeichnet, dass man ein mineral saures Salz von p-Phenetidin auf einen Thio- ammelinäther in Gegenwart eines Verdün- nungsmittels einwirken lässt.
Das so erhaltene Mono-4'-methoxyphenyl- melaniin ist ein neuer Körper. Er schmilzt bei 21.8 bis 219 (das Chlorhydrat bei 268 bis 269 ) und soll als Zwischenprodukt zur Her stellung von harzartigen Kondensationspro dukten Verwendung finden.
<I>Beispiel:</I> 686 kg p-Phenetidin und 49 kg Salzsäure (apez. Gew. = 1,19) werden; in etwa 2'500 Liter heissem Wasser gelöst und mit 785 kg Thioammelin-methyläther so lange gekocht, bis kein unverändertes p-Phenetidin mehr nachweisbar ist.
Die Lösung, welche das Chlorhydrat des Umsetzungsproduktes ent hält, wird heiss von geringen Abscheidungen abfiltriert. Nach dem Erkalten wird die Base durch Zusatz von 58 kg Natronlauge 40 B6 als farblose Kristallmasse abgeschieden, mit Wasser neutral gewaschen und getrocknet. Das so erhaltene Mono-4'-methoxy-phenyl- melamin kann durch Umkristallisieren aus Butanol noch weiter gereinigt werden.

The present patent relates to a process for the production of a monoaryl substitution product of melamine, characterized in that a mineral acid salt of p-phenetidine is allowed to act on a thioamine ether in the presence of a diluent.
The mono-4'-methoxyphenylmelaniin thus obtained is a new body. It melts at 21.8 to 219 (the chlorohydrate at 268 to 269) and is said to be used as an intermediate for the manufacture of resinous condensation products.
<I> Example: </I> 686 kg of p-phenetidine and 49 kg of hydrochloric acid (apez. Wt. = 1.19); Dissolved in about 2,500 liters of hot water and boiled with 785 kg of thioammelin methyl ether until no unchanged p-phenetidine can be detected.
The solution, which contains the chlorohydrate of the reaction product, is filtered off hot from small deposits. After cooling, the base is deposited as a colorless crystal mass by adding 58 kg of sodium hydroxide solution 40 B6, washed neutral with water and dried. The mono-4'-methoxyphenylmelamine obtained in this way can be purified even further by recrystallization from butanol.
