2) n'a qu'une seule came.
Automatic lap. The object of the invention is an automatic lathe with several radially acting tools attached to the same tool holder.
It is characterized in that it comprises at least one tool holder oscillating on each side of a plane parallel to the direction of advance and passing at least approximately through the axis of the spindle of the lathe.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, an embodiment of an automatic lathe according to the invention.

fig. 13 shows a lever of the coupling seen in the direction of arrow L in FIG. 2; fig. 14 is a section along the line XIV-XIV of FIG. 2.
The radially acting tools 200 to, 20'5 are attached to sectors 2106 and 207. The attachment of the tools is shown in FIGS. 3, 4 and 5. Each sector has a cavity 208 from which protrusions 209 'emerge. Adjustment screws 210 are screwed into these projections. Between these screws and the adjustment wedges 211 are arranged the tools 200 to 20-5. Corners can be forced between tools and protrusions using. clamp bolts 212 passing through the. rear part 213 of the shell of the sector, The sectors 2'06, 207 are pivoted in the terminal forks 2:14, 215 of the connecting rods 216, 217 by means of pins 2-18, 219.
The connecting rods 216, 217 are slidably mounted in bearings 220, 2.21. The sectors are guided on both sides by guide surfaces 5222, 223. The surfaces 22? are part of guides 2'2! 4 screwed to the frame 6 and the surfaces 223, are arranged on the casing plates 22i6 of the frame. Springs 227 housed in cavities 228 of the frame and attached to the extensions 229 of the pivots 218, 219, ten dent: to move the tools away from the workpiece 230.
The advance movement is given to the tools by balances 23.1, 23.2 pivoted in the bearings 5313, by means of the pivots 23.1 (fig. 1, 6 and 7). These balances 23.1, 23'2? have shoes 235 articulated to one of their ex trémités and cooperating with corresponding shoes 236 of the connecting rods 216, 217. The lancers 231 and 2,3,2 are interconnected by a connecting rod 2'37. On the pivot 234 of the balance 231 is articulated an arm 2.38. This arm is linked by a connecting rod 302 to a lever 239 (fig. 2 and 8) pivoted in a bracket 240 fixed to the frame 6.
This lever 2.30 is provided with a roller 241 intended to cooperate with the cam disc 242 mounted on the working camshaft 603 supported by the bearings 3104 of the frame 6 (FIGS. 2 and 8). The shaft 6'03, is, as said above, driven at constant speed, speed which is a function of the. desired production.
The connecting rods 246, 247 are articulated to ears 244, 245 of sectors 2206, 207 by means of tenons 248, 249 and to levers 2'50, 251 by means of tenons 2'52 :, 251 The viers 250, 2, 51 and 267, 2'618 are pivoted in bearings 2'54 by means of shafts 2,56, 257 (fig. 9). Studs or rollers 258, 259 attached to levers 267, 268 engage cams 260, 2161 attached to cylinders 262, 2 6: 3 which are mounted on shaft 264 supported by bearings 256, 266. The pin or roller 259 is kept in constant contact with the cam 261 by the weight of the sector 2 (17 and its accessories.
To ensure constant contact of the stud 258 and. of the cam 261_), levers 313, 31.4 are provided and pivoted on a shaft 315; a connecting rod 316 connects the lever 3l4 to the.-sec tor 20'6 and a spring 3:17 connects the lever 313 to the frame 6. It can be seen in FIG. 1 that the spring comes out 317 constantly presses the stud 25'8 against the cam 260. The shaft 9'64 is driven intermittently.
This intermittent rotation can be obtained by the following mechanism (fig. 2): a helical gear? 69 mounted on the shaft 26 is engaged with another helical gear 270 whose shaft 271 is supported by bearings 272 and 273. One of the bréguets' 274 of a toothed coupling is slidably mounted on the shaft 271 by means of a key 275. The other short 2'76 of the coupling is mounted fixed on a shaft 277 supported by the bearings: 278.
The shaft 277 carries the toothed wheel 279 <it engages the toothed wheel 2'180 fixedly mounted on the shaft 44 which is moved at constant speed either by a motor not shown via gears also not shown, or by a motor not shown and appropriate references.
Each of the coupling spigots has a ring gear 282, 283, (fi ,,. 11) intended to cooperate with each other when the coupling is engaged. A collar 284 is screwed onto the shaft 271 and a coil spring 28.5, inserted between the collar 284 and the bréguet 2'74, tends to keep the toothed rings \ 282- and 2'83 in engagement by pushing the bréguet 274 towards the non-sliding bréguet 276.
Two plates 286-comprising an inclined surface or ramp 287 (fig. 10 'and 12) are screwed onto the bréguet 2'74. The top surface of this. plates 286 which includes the ramp '2'87 cooperates with a stopper 2:
8'8 constituting the exirérnité of a link 289 slidably mounted in the bearing 290. The opposite end of the link 289 is articulated by means of a pin 293 (fig. 2 and 13) to the terminal fork 291 a balance 292. The latter is mounted on a shaft 2'94 supported by bearings 2.95 of the frame (fig. 131).
The other end 296 of the lancing device 292 'cooperates with a cleat 29'7 fixed to the disc 208 which is fixedly mounted on the working camshaft 603. A spring 299, re connecting an arm 300 integral with the balance 292 to a fixed point 3 (01 of the machine, maintains the stop 28'8 in engagement with the plate 286 of the sliding bréguet. To prevent the end 29.6 of the balance 292 from constantly pressing against the disc 29.8, the link 289 'is provided with a stop collar 3'016 which limits the movement of said link and therefore that of the balance 29.2.
To stop the rotation of the shaft 264 when the coupling is disengaged, there is provided on the shaft 271 a cam disc 307 (fig. 2, and 14). This cam disc cooperates with a 3.0'8 roller fixed to one end of a 3.09 square lever pivoted on an axis 310 '. A spring 311, fixed, on the one hand, to the frame 6 of the machine and, on the other hand, to the other end of the lever 309, maintains the roller 3.08 against the cam disc 307. The lower parts 312 of the cam disc 30'7 corresponds to the position K of the stop 288 in fig. 12. In this position, the coupling is disengaged.
The pressure which supports the roller 3.08; against the lower part 3.12 and supplied by the spring 3; 11 is sufficient to stop the shaft 271.
The mechanism which has just been described operates as follows: When two of the tools 200 to 205, for example the tools 20'1 and 2104, have been brought into the position shown in FIG. 1, the cam disc 242 gives these tools an advance movement towards the center of the workpiece 23-0, this by means of the lever 239, the connecting rod 3t02, the balance 23.1, the connecting rod 237 and balance 23-2.
When the advance of the or tils is complete, and the roller 241a reaches the end point of the smallest diameter of the cam disc 242, that is, when the springs 227 have returned the tools, the cleat 29e7 of the disc 2i98 actuates the balance 292 against the effect of the spring 29.9 '; the stop 28'8 releases one of the plates 28'6, so that the toothed crown 2 $ 2 of the bréguet 2i74 being subjected to the action of the res out 2i85, engages with the crown toothed 28'3 , of the bréguet 2'7.6.
The cylinders 262, 263 with the cams 2-60, 26,1 are then set in rotation and the sectors 206, 20,7 are quickly pivoted on their pivots 218, 2-19 thanks to the connecting rods 246, 247 until other tools, for example tools 20,0 and 205 are brought into the working position. When this is done, the second plate 2'86, rotating with the bréguet 2'74, abuts with its ramp 287 against the stop 288 and, continuing its rotation, compresses the spring 28.5 and disengages the bréguet 274 of the bréguet 2'76, thus stopping the cylinders 262, 263, by means of the locking mechanism shown in FIGS. 2 -and 14.
Bréguet 274 completed only a U-turn. The advance of the others or tils 200 and 2'05 can then begin.
The cam disc 242 shown in FIG. 2) has only one cam. It therefore only controls the advance of two opposing tools. The sectors 206, 207 therefore only need to be rotated once on each revolution of the disc 242. It follows that the disc 298 only needs one drive lug. 297. However, if we wanted to make all the tools 200 to 205 work in the space of one revolution of the disk 2.42, it would be necessary to provide three cams on this disk and, consequently, three cleats of 'drive 297 on disc 29-8.
The sectors 2016f, 207 can also be controlled independently of each other by separate cam discs, and the cams of these discs can be arranged so as to actuate only one tool at a time. If, in the latter case, all the tools must work one after the other during one revolution of the cam discs, six disc drive tabs 298 must be provided.
The cams 260, 2-6'1 are preferably removably mounted: they are screwed onto the cylinders 262, 263. Their construction and arrangement are determined by practice and do not need any further description.
