Device for driving an organ in rotation and stopping the latter after one revolution The present invention relates to a device for driving an organ in rotation and for stopping the latter after one revolution. complete, comprising a toothed wheel temporarily driven by a drive pinion. Such devices are frequently used, for example, in a talking machine provided with an automatic disc change device, to drive the cams automatically causing the movements of the pick-up arm and of the various other components necessary for the operation. automatic disc change.
The present invention relates to a drive device which differs from known devices by the fact that it further comprises a toothed sector rotatably secured to the toothed wheel and arranged in line with a notch of this toothed wheel, constituted by the absence of a portion of its toothing, and control members for axially moving this toothed sector, with respect to said toothed wheel, from a position for which it can engage with the drive pinion to a position for which it is out of reach of this pinion.
The drawing illustrates schematically, by way of example, an embodiment of the drive device suitable for driving the set of control cams for a disc changer. 'y Fig. 1 is a front view along the arrow A in FIG. 2.
Fig. 2 is a side view of it along arrow B of FIG. 1.
Figs. 3 and 4 are plan views illustrating the control means in two different positions.
The drive device shown comprises, on the one hand, a drive pinion 1 rigidly fixed to an axis 2 carrying the turntable (not shown) of the disc changer and, on the other hand, a toothed wheel 4 rotating freely on an axis 5 and driving a set of cams of which a single cam c is shown. This cogwheel. has a notch 6, so that its den ture does not exist over an angular length b.
A toothed sector a, cut in the edge of a plate 7, is arranged in line with the notch 6 of the toothed wheel. The length of this toothed sector a is greater than the length of the portion of the sector b. This plate 7 is rotatably integral with the toothed wheel 4. For this purpose, it comprises a bore 8 engaged in a groove 9 of the axis 5, and a radial slot 10 through which an eccentric 11 screwed into the wheel. toothed 4.
The den ture of the plate 7 is identical to the den ture of the toothed wheel 4 so that, by operating the eccentric 11, it is possible to fix the angular position of the plate 7, so that its toothing replaces the non-existent part b of the toothing of the toothed wheel 4. The shaft 11a of the eccentric has a length d allowing axial displacement of the toothed sector b between two extreme positions.
For one of these extreme positions - shown in solid lines by FIGS. 1 and 2 - sector a is outside the reach of drive pinion 1, while, for the other extreme position - shown in broken lines in fig. 2 - this toothed sector a can engage with said drive pin 1 and then replace the deleted part b of the toothing of wheel 4.
The drive device described also has a device for controlling the position of the plate 7, which comprises a finger 13 integral with an arm 14 pivoted on an axis 15 integral with the base plate 16 of the disc changer. This arm is subjected to the action of a spring 17 tending to keep the finger 13 engaged between the toothed wheel 4 and the plate 7. The latter carries an inclined tongue 18 and whose foot 18a (FIG. 1) is offset. a value e corresponding to the distance separating the two extreme positions of the sector a.
The arm 14 is rigidly connected to a second arm 19 (fig. 1 and 2) which crosses the base plate 16 by an opening 20 and which carries an actuating finger 21 provided with a ramp 22 (fig. 3). and 4). The disc changer partially shown in the drawing com carries, on the one hand, a floating arm 23 driven by friction and in a known manner by the arm of the pick-up (not shown), the needle of which is engaged in the groove of. a disk placed on the turntable, and, on the other hand, a knocker 24 integral with the axis 2 of the turntable.
This knocker pushes back the floating arm 23 during each revolution of the turntable by acting on an inclined face 25 of this floating arm. Thus, during the hearing of a record, the floating arm dragged by friction in the movement of the pick-up arm is pushed backwards with each revolution of the record player by the knocker 24 sliding along of the inclined face 25.
However, when the pick-up needle is engaged in the fast-pitch disc end groove and causes rapid displacement of the floating arm 23, the magnitude of this displacement during a complete revolution of the turntable is then sufficient for the knocker 24 to engage with the side edge 26 (FIG. 3) of the floating lever 23 and drives the latter in the direction of arrow f1.
During the angular displacement of this floating arm 23, a lug 27, carried by the latter, engages with the ramp 22 of the finger 21 and actuates the arm 19 and therefore the arm 14 in the direction of the arrow f 2 against the action of the res comes out 17. Consequently, the finger 13, driven in the movement of the arm 14, escapes at the foot of the tongue 18 and the sector has fallen, under the action of the weight of the plate 7, on the wheel toothed 4. This plate 7 then takes the position shown in broken lines in FIG. 2.
The toothed sector a of this plate then meshes with the drive pinion and establishes with the plate 7, a link mechanically linking the drive pinion 1 to the toothed wheel 4. Thus the latter is rotated in the direction of arrow f3 and its teeth in turn mesh with drive pin 1.
The knocker 24, continuing its rotation, drives the floating arm 23 into the position shown in FIG. 4, for which the finger 13 is out of reach of the plate 7. The knocker, continuing its course, escapes at the end of the floating arm. The spring 17 ra then leads the finger 13 in its original position represented by the fi-. 4. However, at this time, the plate 7, driven by the pin gnon 1, is already out of reach of the finger 13. The floating arm 23 is returned to the position illustrated in FIG. 3, under the action of a mechanism not described, via the cam set.
On the other hand, during the rotation of the toothed wheel 4 and shortly before the latter has made a complete revolution, the inclined tongue 18 engages on the finger 13 and slides on the latter, so that the plate 7 is returned to its original position shown in solid lines in FIG. 2 and for which its toothed sector a is out of reach of the pinion 1. It follows that when the notch 6 of the toothed wheel 4 comes opposite this pinion 1, the mechanical connection connecting this wheel to this pinion being interrupted, the toothed wheel 4 automatically stops in its original angular position. This wheel has therefore made a complete revolution during which the set of cams has controlled all the movements necessary for the change of disc.
If the user wishes to cause the disc change prematurely, it suffices to exert a traction on a rod 29 of which a finger 30 acts on the floating lever 23.
The toothed wheel 4 can be cut with its teeth in a single operation, and the plate 7 can also be cut with its teeth and its tongue stamped in. a single operation. In addition, the energy necessary to cause the engagement of the sector a in the teeth of the pinion 1 is very low and corresponds to that necessary to push the arm 14 against the action of its weak return spring 17, since the 'meshing of the sector den té a with the pinion 1 is obtained by gravity.
One embodiment of the training device, object of the invention, has been described here with reference to the schematic drawing, but it goes without saying that other embodiments are possible. Thus, for example, the lifting of the plate could be caused by a boss carried by the toothed wheel 4 and acting on the finger 22 which would be elastically connected to the arm 14.
