Description

Briquet pyrophorique.

Pyrophoric lighter. In pyrophoric lighters, the stone attacked by the roughness of the carpet in order to produce the sparks necessary for the ignition of the wick, is housed in a cylindrical cavity and subjected to the action of a spring. advancing as it wears. However, there is nothing to estimate the degree of the latter without extracting the stone from its housing.

The present invention overcomes this disadvantage by the fact that the organ in which the stone is housed has an opening making it possible to see the latter partially.

The appended drawing represents an embodiment of the object of the invention, given by way of example.

Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the upper part of a lighter of a known type, cover removed.

Fig. 2 is a corresponding side view.

On the flooded upper face 1 of the lighter box 2 is aligned: a wheel 3 :, a stone holder 4 and a spring holder 5. The stone holder can turn around the axis of the wheel, in order to to allow the introduction of the pyrophoric stone 6 in its housing 7. Between stone and spring is located an intermediate piston 8, which can be actuated from the outside. by means of the pusher 9, which it is integral with. The arrangement described so far is known.

The novelty of the lighter represented consists of a slot 10, made laterally and longitudinally in the stone holder. It has the advantage of making it possible to see part of the stone and in particular to realize its degree of wear. Fig. 2 indeed shows how the line separating stone 6 and piston 8, which could if necessary be colored differently, appears clearly in slot 10.

It is obvious that the invention applies to lighters of any type, different from that described, but allowing an opening to be provided allowing part of the pyrophoric stone to appear.
