Gasket for protecting the dial of a watch The object of the present invention is a gasket for protecting the dial of a watch, characterized in that it comprises a cover, a spring, a piston, a hinge pin and a hinge pin, in that the hinge pin is provided with at least one protruding pin for its attachment to the watch case and is pierced with a hole through which the hinge pin passes, which also passes through a hole in said cover, in that said cover has, on the one hand, a recess containing the hinge pin and, on the other hand, a channel housing the spring which is compressed in a variable manner depending on the position of said cover by a piston resting on the hinge pin,
so that the spring is released for two distinct positions, one for closing, the other for opening the cover.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the lining, object of the invention.
Figs. 1 to 4 represent all the parts of this embodiment.
Fig. 5 is a section perpendicular to the dial of a watch case and transverse to the hinge rod of the trim.
Fig. 6 is a section similar to FIG. 5, the cover being half folded, in the position of maximum compression of the spring. The trim shown is adaptable to various watch cases. It comprises a hinge stud 1 provided with two projecting pins 2 and drilled with a hole 3. To fix said stud 1 on a watch case 4, we make in this box two holes corresponding to the pins 2. We insert the pins 2 which can be riveted if they are made to protrude slightly on the opposite face of the box, or be held by welding or by soldering.
The piston 5 has a cylindrical part sliding in a channel 6 drilled in the mass of the cover 7. A part of the piston 5 of smaller diameter is slipped inside a helical spring 8, one end of which rests on the bottom. of channel 6 of the cover 7.
A hinge rod 9, formed by a cut wire, is threaded into the hole 10 of the cover 7 and into the hole 3 of the hinge stud 1. The rod 9 is riveted at its ends or held by front screws, or else welded at the ends.
In the closed position, with the cover folded over a watch case 4 facing the dial, the piston 5 exits somewhat from the channel 6, while being retained by the stud 1. The spring 8 is then relatively relaxed.
By opening the cover 7, turning it around the rod 9, the spring 8 is somewhat compressed by the pressure of the piston.

tone 5 which is pushed back by the edge of the stud 1. The spring 8 goes through a state of maximum compression and relaxes again when it reaches the open position of the cover 7, which maintains the latter in this position. A little more than half of the permitted rotation is therefore sufficient to obtain either the opening or the closing of the cover.
