Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a piece of jewelry for clothing ornamentation adaptable to a button passed through its buttonhole.
Items of jewelry for clothing ornamentation serving as button covers are already known. The means of mounting these elements are very diverse and generally include boxes covering or enclosing the button to be hidden (see for example US Patents 3343230). It is therefore easily understood that the item of jewelry undergoes the fate of the button if it is itself disjointed, detached or torn from the garment on which it is worn, or otherwise lost. This is a significant disadvantage, all the more important since the item of jewelry has value.
To overcome this drawback, the present invention proposes to give the mounting means of such jewelry elements a greater guarantee against the risk of loss in the sense that these mounting means cooperate not only with the button itself but with the portion of the garment in which the buttonhole is made, so that once the item of jewelry is in place, it is secured to both the button and its buttonhole in which it is engaged or passed. It follows that even if, for whatever reason, the button were to be separated from the garment that wears it, the item of jewelry and the button that it covers would still have at least one point of attachment or fixing with said garment.
C'est le cas des systèmes décrits au brevet US 2924037.Furthermore, existing systems using as a means of fixing to the garment, simple springs or spirals have the drawback of being very fragile, of pulling on the seam of the buttons, of becoming jammed during their positioning, thus damaging the buttonholes. In addition, said systems can only with difficulty maintain the jewel properly oriented on the garment. This is the case of the systems described in US Pat. No. 2,942,037.
Thus the present invention covers a jewelry item, simple, robust, massive and not having the aforementioned drawbacks, easily adaptable to the garment by a rotation of a button passed through its buttonhole, element of the type described in said patent US Pat. No. 2,922,037 be defined in the most generic way as comprising an internally hollowed-out body of revolution, totally or partially for housing and holding a button in position so that the periphery of the latter can serve as a guide and its axis of axis of rotation to said body of revolution, the first of the bases of the latter being either constituting the jewel or the motif of jewelry or serving as a support or for fixing the decorative object, ornamentation, actual jewelry or possibly various objects, the second base extending by a ramp terminated by a blunt point shape, ramp intended to pass through the buttonhole of the garment, l jewelery element according to the invention being characterized in that the body of revolution is a cylindrical body and in that said second base is provided with a band forming a tab produced substantially in the direction of the generatrices of said cylindrical body, perpendicular to it last, crossing the buttonhole, this tab intended to immobilize the rotating part in both directions when the jewelry element is in place and constitutes nt the initiation of an open ring, in a plane parallel to said second base and ending in a short helical ramp going away from said second base and having its end in the form of a blunt point.

Referring to these drawings, the element according to the invention comprises a cylindrical body 1 which can be entirely hollowed out internally as illustrated in particular in FIGS. 1, 2 and 4 or partially hollowed out internally as illustrated for example in FIG. 5. The role and the function of this cylindrical body is to constitute a housing for the introduction and the maintenance in position of a button B, so that the periphery of the latter bears on the internal wall of said housing and that the latter can be animated a rotational movement whose axis would be the axis of said button, as will be explained later.
This cylindrical body can be made in such a way, that is to say in a material and in an external shape such that it can itself serve as a piece of jewelry intended to fit directly on a button. Otherwise, this same cylindrical body can serve as a support, for example by its
The internal walls of the cylindrical body 1, when the latter is completely hollowed out, serve, as said previously, as a support and guide surface cooperating with the periphery of the button B. On the other hand, when this internal volume is partially hollow, it is possible to produce simple contact and stop zones cooperating with three sectors of the periphery of the button B, as illustrated for example in the figures 5 and 6. The
The element according to the invention is used in the following manner: when the button B has already passed through its buttonhole b , the element according to the invention is presented so as to introduce its
The element thus mounted on the button B covers the latter or constitutes for it an ornamentation. It can only be extracted by bringing the lip of the buttonhole located on the side of the opening of the ring below it so as to escape the stop (tab 3) and thus allow operations and movements inverse of those which have just been described. Even if this button B were to be detached from the garment V on which the element according to the invention is fixed, the latter could not be driven with this button, since it is engaged with the reverse of the buttonhole b and that wanting to dissociate it would imply the tearing of this buttonhole.
The embodiment of the element according to the invention contributes not only to the ornamentation of a button but also to provide the user with a guarantee against the possible loss of this element, the latter having a point of attachment additional with the buttonhole through which said button, itself engaged with said element.
