Machine-outil automatique.
La fig. 1 la représente en élévation, de côté, sans le dispositif monté sur la table mobile, le bâti de la machine étant représenté en coupe; la fig. 2 montre une projection orthogo nale incomplète de la fig. 1, le dispositif mentionné ci-dessus étant en place sur la table; la fig. 3 est une coupe partielle, à plus grande échelle, suivant la ligne III-III de la fig. 2; la fig. 4 est une coupe incomplète, à plus grande 1 échelle, suivant la ligne IV-IV de la fig. 2;
Automatic machine tool. The object of the invention is an automatic machine tool comprising a rotary tool, for example a milling cutter or a grinding wheel, and a mobile table intended to support the workpiece, this table and the tool holder being controlled by a set of cams intended to communicate to them combined translational movements and allowing to operate on workpieces of any shape, following rectilinear, broken or curved paths, for example to mill, bevel or grind recesses, keyways, grooves, engraving inscriptions, etc.
The object of the invention is to create a fully automatic machine, of high precision - and of optimum efficiency, while making it possible to operate in particular on workpieces of cylindrical or prismatic shape for cutting, for example. , helical grooves or any shape. The operation of the machine being automatic, a single maneuver is sufficient to monitor the operation of several of these machines. According to the invention, the mobile table is com-; mandated by two distinct cams intended to communicate to it translation movements along two orthogonal planes, one of which is parallel to the axis of rotation of the tool.
The workpiece is mounted on the-; said table by means of a device capable of communicating to the part to or vrer a movement: of rotation on itself, this movement being determined by a cam actuating said device.
The accompanying drawing shows, by way of example, one embodiment of the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 shows in elevation, from the side, without the device mounted on the movable table, the frame of the machine being shown in section; fig. 2 shows an incomplete orthogonal projection of FIG. 1, the device mentioned above being in place on the table; fig. 3 is a partial section, on a larger scale, along line III-III of FIG. 2; fig. 4 is an incomplete section, on a larger scale, along the line IV-IV of FIG. 2;
fig. 5 shows, by way of example, a cylindrical part with grooves, worked on a machine as shown in the drawing.
In a frame fi is mounted,. a vertical shaft 7, on which are wedged three cams 8, 9 and 10, the cam 8 also forming a cam-bell 11. The shaft 7 is controlled by a grooved pulley 12, via a shaft 13 and a worm gear 14 and 15.
. The cams 8 and 9 each actuate a lever 16, respectively 17, by the intermediary of a rocker 18, respectively 19, pi voted in 20, respectively 21, on an arm 16 ', respectively 17' of the levers 16 and 17 pivoted, each on a vertical axis 22, respectively 23 The rockers 18 and 19 are rigidly assembled with the respective arms 16 'and 17', each by means of an adjusting screw 24 (not shown in fig. 1) , making it possible to rectify the angular position of said rockers relative to the arms 16 ', 17'. These are connected to each other by a coil spring 25 passing behind a fixed pin 2-5 '.
This spring 25 serves as a return spring common to the two levers 16 and 17 and, therefore, constantly tends to push the latches 18 and 19, each by means of a spout 18 ', respectively 19', against the periphery of their respective cams 8 and 9.
The lever 16 forms, at its free end, a collar 26, in which is adjusted, by a cylindrical guide column 27. a horizontal table 28, so that the latter, guided by its column 27, can perform a movement. upward and downward in translation relative to the collar 26. This movement is limited, in the upward direction, by a rim 27 'of the column 27. This column is supported by gravity, under the effect of the weight of the table 28, on a cap 29 adjusted and movable in a fixed socket 29 '.
The column could be provided with return springs tending to press the column on the cap. This sleeve 29 'and the cap 29 together form a sheath enclosing at least one damping spring (not shown) which is preferably constituted by a coil spring held slightly compressed by the column. 27 so that it reacts elastically to the. times against said column and a lever 30.
pivoted on a pin 31, and coupled to the cap 29 by one of its ends. The other end of the lever 30 is controlled by the cam-bell 11, via a rod 33 always tending to keep in contact with this cam, under the effect of the reaction of the table 28. Thus, the table 28 is capable of receiving an upward and downward movement determined by the cam 11 which transmits the movement to it by means of the rod 33; lever 30 and cap 29.
Otherwise; the table 28 is capable of receiving an automatic translational movement along its horizontal plane, in this case an oscillating movement determined by the cam 8 and transmitted to the collar 26 by means of the rocker 18 , the adjustment screw 24 and the lever 16 During this translational movement of the table 28,
the column thereof slides on the domed part of the cap 29.
Above the table 28 is arranged a rotary tool 34, for example a milling cutter, fixed in a tool holder fitted directly on the shaft 3a of an electric motor 36 which communicates a rapid rotational movement to the tool. :
This motor, the tool holder and the tool are mounted on the lever 17, so that the shaft 35 of the motor is disposed vertically above the table 28 and that all of these members 34, 35 and 36 (not shown in FIG. 2) can perform a translational movement along a plane parallel to that of the table 28, in, participates in the oscillating movement of the lever 17:
The workpiece is not directly mounted on the movable table 28, because, when it is for example a cylindrical shaped part, in which the tool has to mill or cut a groove or a groove of a curved or irregular line, as shown in fig. 5, it is necessary for it to be driven by a rotational movement determined on itself.
For this purpose, a device is provided comprising a tailstock 37 and a tailstock 38 (fig. 2, 3 and 4), both mounted on the table 28. In the tailstock 37 for rna, a bearing is fitted a shaft hollow 3,9 containing a clamping mechanism of which one can only distinguish in the drawing (fig. 3) the control handle 40 and part of the clamp 41.
In the tailstock 38 is fitted a spindle 42 provided with a tailstock. The workpiece 43 is fixed by clamping in the clamp 41 and is held, on the other hand, by the tailstock of the spindle 42, the latter being arranged coaxially with respect to the shaft 39.
In the doll 39 is adjusted and guided a transverse slide 44 which is coupled, by two metal tapes 45, 45 ', the shaft 39, these tapes being wound in opposite directions with respect to each other around this shaft and attached by their ends, on the one hand, to the slide and, on the other hand, to the shaft. The slider 44 is also subjected to the action of a weight (not shown) suspended from a chain 46 attached at 47 to the slider and passing over a guide pulley 48. The aforementioned weight constantly exerts a traction on the slider 44. -and tends to move it from right to left (FIG. 4) to push it against a roller 49 of a lever 50, pivoted at 51. This pivot 51 is .supporté by an arm 52 fixed on the axis 22.
The action of the slide 44 on the lever 50a has the effect of making a spout 53, fixed to this lever, press against the periphery of the cam 10 which, thereby, controls the movement of the lever 50 and, therefore, the direct and retrograde stroke of said slide. Now, the two ribbons 45 are housed between the shaft 39 and the slide 44, so that the back and forth movement of the slide is transmitted entirely, by the tapes 45, to the shaft 39 to which is communicated. Thus, an alternating rotational movement is initiated which is transmitted entirely to the workpiece 43 by the clamping mechanism.
It follows that the workpiece is capable of being driven by three distinct automatic movements, namely: the rotational movement on itself and two translational movements, vertical and horizontal, communicated to the table 28. These Movements, combined with the translational movement of the tool, determine the path of the work to be done on the workpiece. Said rotational movement can be continuous, intermittent or reciprocating.
The cams of the machine are easily removable, so that they can be quickly replaced by spare cams corresponding to a new mass-produced workpiece, milling cutter or grinding wheel.
The device intended to communicate to the part to be opened a rotational movement on itself could differ at least in part from that shown in the drawing; however. it will always be controlled by a cam.
As for the rotary tool of the machine, it could be controlled by means of a transmission, by means of an independent motor, of the machine, as is the case for the pulley operating the cams.
