Draft regulator. The object of the present invention is a draft regulator. This regulator is characterized by a perforated casing intended to be fixed in a removable way bypassing on a hot gas discharge channel, by a diaphragm with opening placed in this casing, by a flap mounted so pivoting on this diaphragm so as to close the opening, and by an adjustable return device exerting a force tending to close the shutter, all with the aim that under the effect of an increase in draft the shutter opens and limit this increase.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the draft regulator forming the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 is a longitudinal section thereof and FIG. 2 a section along II-II of FIG. 1. In the embodiment shown, the regulator comprises a housing having a body 1 the bottom of which forms a diaphragm 2 with an orifice 3 closed by a flap 4 riveted to one branch of a lever 5, the other branch of which has a thread carrying an adjusting nut 6 acting as a counterweight and tending to close the shutter 4. A rod 7, having at its end outside the housing a head 8 facilitating its handling, is mounted in the housing by means of a fen due 9 sleeve This rod closes the shutter and locks it in its closed position.
The housing further comprises a perforated cover 10 mounted on a hinge at 11. This regulator is placed in bypass by means of its mouth 12 on a connector 13 of the chimney 14 and fixed by means of a clamp 15.
The operation of the regulator shown is as follows: The pressure of the shutter is adjusted against the opening 3 of the diaphragm by screwing more or less the threaded nut 6 acting as a counterweight, if one wishes to maintain a more or less draft low.
When the draft tends to exceed the value chosen, the depression behind the shutter causes it to open and the air which then enters the chimney through the regulator tends to restore the pressure and consequently to reduce the draft.
Adjustments are easily made, then all you have to do is lift the hinged cover to access the adjustment nut 6.
To maintain the maximum draft, simply close the shutter by pushing the rod î provided for this purpose.
