Description

Additional patent to main patent no. 217238. -Process for producing an azo dye. The present patent relates to a process for the production of an azo dye, characterized in that

that 1-diazobenzene-3-sulfonic acid amide is combined in acidic medium with 1-phenyiamino-7-oxynaphthalene-3-sulfonic acid and the monoazo dye thus obtained is the diazo compound of 4'-aminobenzoyl-N-ethyl-l-naphtha - combined ethylamine in an alkaline medium.

The so. The dye obtained is a dark powder that dissolves in water with havanna brown, in concentrated sulfuric acid with a purple-red color, and dyes wool from acidic or neutral baths in olive-brown shades of good fastness, especially to fulling, sweat, seawater, ironing and light.

Example: 17.2 parts of 1-aminobenzene-3-sulfonic acid amide are diazotized. The acidic diazo solution is combined with a neutral solution of 33,

8 parts of the sodium salt of 1-phenylamino - 7 - oxynaphthalene -. 3 - sulfonic acid. After the coupling has ended, the monoazo dye is deposited and redissolved in what water with excess sodium carbonate. A diazo solution prepared from 29 parts of 4'-aminobenzoyl-N-ethyl-l-naphthylamine is run into this solution.

When the formation is complete, the disazo dye is deposited, filtered, washed off and dried.
