Heating body for boiler. The present invention relates to a heating body for a boiler, characterized in that it consists of an electric heating element and a superheated water heating element, these two elements being integral with one another and forming a whole capable of being assembled as a single piece in a boiler or separate from it.
The accompanying drawing represents, by way of examples, three embodiments of the heating body forming the subject of the invention.
Fig. 1 shows in cross section a boiler equipped with a first embodiment of the heating body according to the invention.
Fig. 2 shows in elevation a second embodiment of the heating body, FIG. 2a being a plan view of this second embodiment.
Fig. 3 shows in elevation a third embodiment of the heating body, FIG. 3a being a plan view of this third embodiment.
The heating body shown in fig. 1 is mounted in a boiler. It comprises a heating element with superheated water consisting of a tank 5, the walls 6 of which are made of metal. In this tank lead two tubes 7 and 9 serving respectively to the departure and. To the arrival of water in the tank. These tubes. are intended to be connected to a serpen tin placed in a fireplace. An overflow tube 8 also terminates in the tank 5 and is positioned so as to leave an air mattress at the top of the tank, allowing free expansion of the water.
This tube 8 is provided with a closing screw at its lower part.
The reservoir 5 also contains a tube 4 placed eccentrically inside it. Inside this tube 4 is arranged an electric heating element & An automatic temperature regulator 10 is placed outside the reservoir 5 and is connected to the electric heating element 3.
All the described elements of the heating body are mounted on a flange 1. They thus form a whole which can be mounted as a single piece in a boiler, the flange 1. then being fixed by bolts 2 on a second flange 17 forming part from the boiler. The seal is obtained by means of a gasket 18 made of fibers, rubber, etc.
The boiler in which the described heating body is mounted comprises a metal boiler 12 forming a 1.1. tank and; placed inside a metal insulation jacket 14, the heat insulator 13, such as glass silk, granulated cork, etc., being arranged between the boiler 12 and the jacket 14. A tube 15 is used for the cold water inlet and a 16 tube at the hot water outlet in the boiler. The metal tubes 7 and 9 are intended to be connected to a coil placed in any fireplace, such as a kitchen-garden stove, wood or coal, heater, central heating boiler, oven, etc.
In the heating body of fig. l., the tubes 7 and 9 used for the arrival and departure of the water from the overheated water heating element, as well as the overflow tube 8, are arranged inside this element superheated water heater.
The embodiment shown in FIG. 2 and 2a differs from the first embodiment by the fact that the tube 4 enclosing the electric heating body is arranged concentrically inside the tank 5 with wall 6, and by the fact that the tubes 7 and 9 d The core and water outlet to the tank as well as the overflow tube 8 are arranged outside the heating element with overheated water.
The embodiment shown in FIG. 3 and 3a is analogous to that of fi-. 2- and 2a, but the tank 5 has on its wall 6 fins 20 which increase the heat exchange surface of this tank.
A plug 19 is placed at the top of the reservoir 5 to facilitate zinc plating for iron parts or tinning for copper parts.
The operation of the heating bodies shown is as follows. Once the heating body is mounted in a boiler, the two tubes 7 and 9 are connected to a coil by means of two metal pipes. The superheated water heating element is filled with distilled water by means of two taps, one with a funnel for filling water, placed higher than the appliance, the other used as an overflow, placed at the top. bottom of tube 8. Distilled water is poured into the funnel and when the water flows from the overflow tap, the overflow tap is closed at the same time as the filling tap.
If the tubes 7 and 9 are connected to a serpen tin placed in a vegetable stove for example, during the heating of the latter, this ser pentin is heated and communicates heat to the water, causing circulation by thermosyphon. By the presence of an air mattress at the top of the tank 5 of the superheated water element, the expansion of the water caused by the heating allows operation at high temperature by superheated water which can reach 120 at 150 C because this water is pressurized, preventing the formation of steam. The heat is thus transmitted to the use water contained in the tank 11.
When the electric heating element is in service, it first heats the distilled water contained in the tank see 5, which itself heats the metal wall 6 (transmits the heat to it to the use water contained in the tank 11, thus giving a larger heating surface The electric heating element is controlled by the automatic temperature regulator 10, cutting off the power when the temperature is reached.
The heating bodies shown and described are advantageously applicable to field or city boilers, having to supply one or more hot water stations.
