The present invention relates to a water-heating boiler suitable, for example, for supplying hot water distributions having high flow rates for short periods, as is the case for example in wash-houses. factories or in boarding schools and hotels. It allows, for example, a commissioning only a short time before the period of high consumption, for example 30 to 60 minutes before this period, and to be stopped or put on the back burner after this one.
Thus, this boiler has great operating flexibility, exceeding that of heat accumulators which keep a large quantity of hot water in reserve, sufficient for one or more periods of high consumption.
The water-heating boiler according to the invention is characterized in that it comprises three vertical jackets leaving between them two concentric spaces, the exterior space of which is arranged as a water chamber having a supply inlet at the bottom and a hot water outlet at the top, and the interior space of which is used for the passage of hot combustion gases which are produced in the inner jacket closed at the top and open at the bottom, so that the combustion gases and water rise in equi-currents in their respective spaces.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, a particular embodiment of the boiler which is the subject of the invention and shows an axial vertical section thereof.
The boiler shown consists of three cylindrical sheets of steel sheet 1, 2 and 3, delimiting between them the annular spaces 4 and 5. The space 4 is closed at the bottom and at the top by rings 6 and constitutes the chamber of water provided with a cold water inlet pipe 7 and a hot water outlet pipe 8.
The cylinder 3, placed inside the cylinder 2 and suspended from brackets 2 'of the latter, is closed at the top by a circular heat-insulated sheet 9 and open at its lower end. This end is located far enough from the heat-insulated bottom 10 of cylinder 2 so that the combustion gases, produced inside cylinder 3 by the flames of burner 11 and forced to descend towards the end of this cylinder, find below this cylinder has enough space to change direction and then go up through the annular space 5.
An annular cover 12, placed at the top of the cylinder 2, regulates the distribution of the combustion gases rising in the space 5. The gases leaving the opening 13 of the cover are discharged through the pipe 14 connected to the chimney.
The cylinder 3 may include several ferrules 3 'made of fire-resistant steel. It can be easily removed from above after removing the cover 15 and the ring 12.
The manhole 16, closed by an anti-explosion valve 17 is used to check the operation of the burner and to clean the bottom of the cylinder. The boiler, covered with a layer of heat-insulating material 18, is fitted with the usual control devices, such as a thermometer, thermostat for adjusting the rate of the burner, etc. (not shown).
The high thermal efficiency of the water heater described is due to the fact that the hot combustion gases forced to descend into the inner cylinder bypass the latter at its lower end and thus come into contact with the second cylinder at the place where the chamber d The water receives cold water, as well as the fact that the combustion gases and water rise in equi-currents in their respective annular spaces. In addition, the heated water near its inlet to the boiler causes circulating

circulation throughout the water reserve,
this prevents the formation of water layers of different temperatures and increases the caloric capacity of the water reserve. The sludge that can form in the water is located at the bottom of the water chamber, in a place where it cannot be hardened by a high temperature and from where it can be easily discharged by a drain valve.
