<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

Hot water or steam boiler heated by liquid fuel burner -
The present invention relates to a hot water or steam boiler heated by a liquid fuel burner.
According to this invention, the boiler comprises an internal container disposed in the axis of the boiler; this reactor is in communication with the collector by means of suitable tubes, and on the other hand, its front end is located near the combustion zone, following the direction of projection of the combustible mixture.
In order to increase the duration of the circulation of the flames and combustion gases in the boiler and mainly around the central vessel, the latter is provided with spiral fins.
This boiler finds its application in industry as well as in central heating installations with hot water and low pressure steam.
In the accompanying drawing is shown, by way of example, one embodiment of a horizontal boiler according to the invention.
The fig.l is a vertical section through the boiler; the
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
fig.2 shows a return half-face and a transverse half-section following A-A of fig.l. The boiler has a mantenu a with water circulation in which the outlet b of hot water or steam, the return and the supply C, the thermometer at point d and the outlet e are provided. towards the chimney for the evacuation of the combustion gases.
'. the front of the boiler, a suitable opening f is provided for the location of a liquid fuel burner. This fuel can consist of heavy oil, fuel oil, petroleum, and any other liquid currently used in combination with the burners.
Other elements for water circulation can also be provided such as pipes g, the connection pipes h and h 'and the manifold i. Inside and in the center of the boiler is a receptacle g.
By this new arrangement, the flames and combustion gases therefore pass between this central container; 1 ± and the other elements of the boiler constituting its heating surface.
This surface is therefore very large, in a reduced volume, which gives a new advantage consisting in that this boiler can be placed in small rooms. This reservoir, although it can affect all the useful sections, will preferably be cylindrical in shape; it can be provided with spiral fins on its outer surface. These fins brake the flames and gases, allowing their almost complete recovery. The horizontal position of the boiler allows complete combustion of the liquid fuel and therefore gives a higher efficiency than other boilers already. known.
This position favors the braking of flames and gases; this braking can be calculated so that the heat recovery from the boiler is virtually complete. Although in this way the combustion gases enter the chimney at a very low temperature, the latter may be
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
calculated so as to be sufficient for a constant normal draft.
The boiler can be made of any material. !!, however preference is given to malleable sheets of homogeneous steel. Indeed, the sheet being relatively thin; and a good conductor of heat, the result is that the temperature of the water in the boiler will rise very quickly.
In addition, the sheet allows mass production, much easier, faster and more economical; on the other hand, sheet metal offers much greater guarantees than cast iron and makes it easier to repair minor damage.
As can be seen clearly from the drawing, the various elements are independent of each other, although communicating with each other, and they are therefore easily replaced.
A liquid fuel tank can be provided below the boiler. It is understood that for the construction of a steam boiler it will be fitted with an expansion dome with safety device.
The invention has been described purely as an indication, and in no way limiting, and it goes without saying that many modifications can be made to its details without stopping its mind.
