<B>Zusatzpatent</B> zum Hauptpatent Nr. 215941. Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Farbstoffes der Triazolreihe. Es wurde gefunden, dass ein Farbstoff der Triazolreihe hergestellt werden kann, wenn man den Farbstoff der Formel

mit oxydierenden Mitteln bis zur Bildung des Triazols behandelt.
Der erhaltene Farbstoff stellt in trockenem Zustande ein dunkles Pulver dar, das sich in konzentrierter Schwefelsäure mit rotvioletter, in Wasser mit bräunlicher Farbe löst und Baumwolle aus glaubersalzhaltigem Bade in bräunlichen Tönen färbt, die beim Behandeln mit Kupfersalzen in ein kräftiges Dunkelbraun übergehen.
Zur Durchführung des vorliegenden Ver fahrens können alle oxydierenden Mittel ver wendet werden, die die o-Aminoazogruppie- rung zum Triazolring zu oxydieren vermögen. Vorzugsweise verwendet man eine ammoDia- kalische Kupfersalzlösung. Da sich in diesem Falle gupferkomplexverbindungen des Farb stoffes bilden, so muss hier das erhaltene Pro dukt in einem weiteren Arbeitsgang, der sich an die Oxydation auch unmittelbar anschliessen kann, entkupfert werden. Dies kann in an sich bekannter Weise, z.
B. mittels Mineral säuren, wie Salzsäure, oder mittels Schwefel wasserstoff oder Schwefelwasserstoff abgeben den Mitteln, wie Sulfide, insbesondere lösliche Sulfide, geschehen. <I>Beispiel:'</I> 5 Teile des Dinatriumsalzes des Farbstoffes der Formel

werden bei 95 in 250 Teilen Wasser gelöst und mit einer ammoniakalkalischen Kupfer lösung, bestehend aus 6,3 Teilen krist. Kupfer sulfat, 25 Teilen Wasser und 18,5 Teilen 24 /o iger Ammoniaklösung versetzt.
Man lässt etwa 6 Stunden bei 90-951 rühren und lässt erkalten. Der Farbstoff wird abfiltriert, mit Wasser nachgewaschen und zur Überführung in die kupferfreie Verbindung in 100 Teilen Wasser aufgeschlemmt, mit 30 Teilen 30 o/oiger Salzsäure versetzt und 6 Stunden gekocht. Nach dem Abfiltrieren und Nachwaschen wird er in üblicher Weise durch Umsetzen mit Soda oder Natronlauge in das Natriumsalz über geführt.

To carry out the present process, all oxidizing agents can be used which are capable of oxidizing the o-aminoazo grouping to form the triazole ring. An ammo-alkaline copper salt solution is preferably used. Since in this case copper complex compounds of the dye are formed, the product obtained here has to be decoppered in a further operation, which can also immediately follow the oxidation. After it has been filtered off and washed, it is converted into the sodium salt in the usual way by reacting it with soda or sodium hydroxide solution.
