Description
Verfahren zur Herstellung einer höher molekularen a-substituierten Benzylaminsulfonsäure. Gegenstand des vorliegenden Patentes ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung einer höher molekularen, a-substituierten Benzylaminsul- fonsäure, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass man N-Phenogyacetyl-N-methyl-a-undecylbenzyl- amin sulfiert.
Die neue Sulfonsäure bildet als Natrium salz ein hellbraunes Pulver, dessen wässrige Lösungen schäumen. Sie kann als Wasch und Netzmittel und, als Kalkseifenemulgator Verwendung finden.
<I>Beispiel:</I> 55 Teile des nach den Angaben im Zu satzpatent Nr. 211795 erhaltenen N-Methyl- a-undecylbenzylamins werden zusammen mit 42 Teilen Phenogyessigsäurechlorid 5 Stun den unter Rückfluss gekocht, dann mit Was ser versetzt, ausgeäthert und die Ätherlösung mit verdünnter Sodalösung gewaschen.
Das nach dem Verjagen des Äthers hinterblei bende N-Phenogyacetyl-N-methyl-a-undecyl- benzylamin wird in 250 Teilen Schwefel säuremonohydrat bei Zimmertemperatur ge löst und unter guter Kühlung bei 0 mit 75 Teilen 26%igem Oleum sulfiert, bis eine Probe in verdünnter Natronlauge klar löslich ist. Nach der Neutralisation mit Natronlauge erhält man durch Eindampfen der Lösung ein hellbraunes Pulver, dessen wässrige Lö sungen schäumen.

The subject of the present patent is a process for the preparation of a higher molecular weight, α-substituted benzylamine sulfonic acid, characterized in that N-phenogyacetyl-N-methyl-α-undecylbenzylamine is sulfated.
The new sulphonic acid forms a light brown powder as sodium salt, the aqueous solutions of which foam. It can be used as a detergent and wetting agent and as a lime soap emulsifier.
<I> Example: </I> 55 parts of the N-methyl-a-undecylbenzylamine obtained according to the information in additional patent no. 211795 are refluxed for 5 hours together with 42 parts of phenogyacetic acid chloride, then treated with water, extracted with ether and the ether solution washed with dilute soda solution.
The N-phenogyacetyl-N-methyl-a-undecylbenzylamine remaining after chasing off the ether is dissolved in 250 parts of sulfur acid monohydrate at room temperature and sulfated with good cooling at 0 with 75 parts of 26% oleum until a sample in dilute sodium hydroxide solution is clearly soluble. After neutralization with sodium hydroxide solution, evaporation of the solution gives a light brown powder, the aqueous solutions of which foam.
