Description
Einrichtung an Bahnübergängen.
Establishment at level crossings. Accidents in road traffic often occur at level crossings, as bicycles or heels of shoes get trapped in the gap created, for example, between the travel and guardrails.
The purpose of the present invention is to eliminate this traffic uncertainty.
The device according to the invention is characterized by a strip of elastic mass which at least partially fills a gap created by the rails in order to prevent traffic accidents caused by the gap and at the same time not to hinder rail operations.
The strip is expediently made of rubber.
Embodiments of the subject invention are shown in the accompanying drawings, in which Figures 1 and 2 in section two execution examples for running and guardrails represent; Fig. 3 and 4 show two execution examples for grooved rails.
A gap 3 is formed between the running rail 1 and the guardrail 2. The same is filled in the example of FIG. 1 by a full strip 4 of rubber or some other elastic material to close to the upper edge of the rails. The strip 4 rests on a layer of gravel 5 located between the rails and is firmly connected with its side surfaces at 6 to the inner surfaces of the rail heads by a water-resistant adhesive.
In the embodiment of FIG. 2, the gap 3 between the running rail 1 and guard rail 2 is largely filled by a hollow rubber strip 4 '. The profile of the strip 4 'has lateral extensions 7 which engage under the rail heads to hold the strip in place. The lower surface of the strip rests on a concrete mass 5 '. The strip 4 'can be compressed so far that it can be inserted into the gap without difficulty.
The embodiment according to FIG. 3 shows a grooved rail 1 ', the groove of which is largely filled by a rubber strip 4 ″ profiled to match the groove. The strip could, instead of being hollow as shown, be designed as a solid strip; the groove firmly held.
To insert the screws 8, the upper part of the rubber strip has holes 9 which can be closed again by glued-in rubber stoppers.
4 likewise shows a rubber strip 4 ″ introduced into a grooved rail 1 ′, which is held in place in the groove by gluing.
Similar products can be used as the elastic material instead of rubber. The lengths of the strips can be any; they can also have several cavities and can possibly also be reinforced.
The elastic strip does not prevent the railway from operating in any way, as the wheel flange of the vehicle temporarily depresses the strip in places.
