Verfahren zur Herstellung eines gondensätionsproduktes. Es wurde gefunden, dass man ein Kon densationsprodukt erhält, das auf Grund seiner kapillaraktiven Eigenschaften als Netz-, Dis pergier-, Emulgier-, Wasch- und Reinigungs mittel in der Textilindustrie und Färberei Verwendung finden kann, wenn man 2-Un- decyl-d2-imidazolin, Formaldehyd und Na- triumbisulfit aufeinander einwirken lässt.
Die Umsetzung verläuft nach folgendem Schema:

Es entsteht das Natriumsalz der 2-Undecyl- d2-imidazolin-l-methansulfosäure.
Man kann die Umsetzung auch in Lösungs- oder Verdünnungsmitteln, zweckmässig unter Erwärmen, durchführen. Man kann aber auch die Komponenten direkt ohne Zuhilfenahme von Lösungsmitteln zur Reaktion bringen, gegebenenfalls unter Verwendung eines Über schusses an Formaldehyd und Natriumbisalfit. Man kann zunächst den Formaldehyd auf das Natriumbisulfit einwirken lassen, z. B. auch in fäegenwart des 2-Undecyl-dZ-imid- azolins.
<I>Beispiel:</I> In 1 Mol 2-Undecyl-d2-imidazolin werden bei 95-100 C langsam 2 Mol des Reak tionsproduktes aus Formaldehyd undNatrium- bisulfit eingetragen. Die Schmelze wird bis zur Wasserlöslichkeit auf 120-130 C er hitzt. Nach etwa 1 Stunde ist die Reaktion beendet. Nach dem Erkalten wird der Schmelz kuchen zerkleinert. Das hellgelbe, körnige Produkt ist unter Schäumen in Wasser leicht löslich.

The sodium salt of 2-undecyl-d2-imidazoline-1-methanesulfonic acid is formed.
The reaction can also be carried out in solvents or diluents, expediently with heating. However, the components can also be reacted directly without the aid of solvents, if appropriate using an excess of formaldehyde and sodium bisalfit. You can first let the formaldehyde act on the sodium bisulfite, z. B. also in the presence of 2-undecyl-dZ-imid-azoline.
<I> Example: </I> 2 mol of the reaction product of formaldehyde and sodium bisulfite are slowly introduced into 1 mol of 2-undecyl-d2-imidazoline at 95-100 C. The melt is heated to 120-130 C until it is water-soluble. The reaction has ended after about 1 hour. After cooling, the melting cake is crushed. The light yellow, granular product is easily soluble in water with foaming.
