Description

Barrage automatique.

Automatic barrage. The present invention relates to a dam comprising a movable member for retaining the water which pivots about a fixed axis, and on which at least one spring acts such that the level of the water upstream of the dam is kept substantially constant.

The following description, with reference to the appended drawing, given by way of example, shows various ways in which the invention can be implemented.

Fig. 1 shows a vertical section through a dam, of the mobile rise type, serving as a spillway on a fixed dam; fig. 2 is a horizontal section; fig. 3 shows a vertical section and FIG. 4 a horizontal view of a dam with a spring working under tension.

In fig. 1, the movable member of the holding is in its normal position and retains the level of the water at constant height 1. This movable member (fig. 1 and 2) is composed of trusses 3 on which rests the apron 2 It pivots at its base by means of a pin 5 fixed to the truss 3 and which moves in bearings 4 anchored in the foundations 21.

The crest of the movable member is retained by at least one pressure spring 8. This spring is fixed at its upper end to a part 6 which, by means of a journal 7 not sant through the farm 3, allows a rotational movement. The same arrangement is found at the lower end of the spring. The part 11, attached to the spring 8, pivots around the journal 12 which moves in the bearing 13.

The telescopic tube 9, fixed at both ends to the parts. 6 and, Il., guides the spring. The telescopic tube 10 surrounding the spring 8 and fixed to the parts 6 and 11 serves as protection.

The spring 8 can be composed of several elements of different strengths. The spring resistance is adjusted by means of a device interposed in the spring 8 between the parts 6 and 11, allowing the extension and the shortening of the spring 8.

When level 1 rises, the pressure on the movable member increases; the latter then begins to tilt and reaches, by high flow rates, the horizontal position shown in dotted line in the. trust. 1. The journal 7 reaches 7 ', and the spring 8 is completely compressed. As the water pressure decreases, the spring and the movable member gradually resume their original position.

In fig. 3 and 4, the movable member is retained at 6 to a cable 19 by the journal 7. This cable passes over the grooved pulley 14 and it is retained by the ring 20 to the tension spring 8. This spring is fixed to the eou-ssinets 13 by the part 11 and the pin 1.2. The pulley 14 swivels around its axis 15 which is hand held by the bearings 17. A crankshaft wheel 18, fixed on the shaft 15, rolls on the rail 16.

As soon as the water pressure increases on the apron 2, the dam begins to go down , the spring 8 to lengthen and they drive the pulley 14 and the wheel toothed 18 until the apron has reached the horizontal position? ' and the. pulley la, position b of the fi--. 3. As the water flow decreases, the pressure on the apron 2 decreases, and the movable member rises to reach the first position a.

The dam could also include a combination of pressure working springs and tension working springs.
