La fi-. 1 est une élévation du noyau cen tral, partie en coupe suivant la ligne I-I de la fig. 2; La fig. 2 est une vue en plan du noyau central; La fig. 3 est une vue du noyau central montrant l'assemblage avec un des chapeaux; Les fig. 4 et 5 sont deux vues d'un bou lon employé pour relier les chapeaux au noyau central; La fig. 6 est une vue d'un chapeau partie en coupe;
Assembly device for building elements, in particular in the form of pipes. The present invention relates to an assembly device for building elements, in particular in the form of pipes, and intended more particularly for metal constructions which must be completed in a very short time while being rigid, durable and resistant.
The device is mainly applicable to constructions of a temporary character, but it can even be used in constructions of a permanent character. It is charac terized by a central core comprising two arms arranged angularly with respect to one another and each having a housing to receive the elements to be assembled, and by two caps which are placed on the elements to be assembled, opposite housings of the central core, means being provided to tighten the caps on the elements assembled against the central core.
As means of connection between the central core and the caps, there can be provided cylindrical head bolts perpendicular to the bolt shank, seats for these cylindrical heads being able to be formed on the central core, so as to allow a pivoting of each bolt around its head perpendicular to the element of the tines to be tightened in position by this bolt. With this arrangement, by providing eyelets on the caps open to the outside, for the passage of the bolts, it is possible, thanks to the possibility of pivoting the bolts, to perform the assembly or to undo it, without the need to completely unscrew the nuts of the bolts.
In the drawings is shown, by way of example, an embodiment of the object of the invention.
The fi-. 1 is an elevation of the central core, partly in section taken along the line I-I of FIG. 2; Fig. 2 is a plan view of the central core; Fig. 3 is a view of the central core showing the assembly with one of the caps; Figs. 4 and 5 are two views of a bolt used to connect the caps to the central core; Fig. 6 is a view of a hat partly in section;
Fig. 7 is a plan view of a cap. The device shown has a central core 1 (fig. 1 and 2) comprising a cross with exactly equal arms with two housings with a cylindrical surface 2 and 3, the radius of which depends. the diameter of the pipes to be assembled. The concavity of surfaces 2 and 3 is turned outward and in opposite directions, their generatrices following mutually perpendicular directions.
The opposite part in relief of these two cylindrical surfaces 2 and 3 is provided with flanges 4 and 5 in which bolts 6 (fig. 4 and 5) can be housed serving for the assembly of caps 7 (fig. 3, 6 , 7) with the central core. The bolts 6 have a cylindrical head perpendicular to the rod of the bolt, so that the bolts can pivot around their head placed in the seats 4, 5, perpendicular to the element intended to be tightened by the bolt in question.
The advantage of these clamps is that the bolts can be removed at will when they are damaged by use and need to be replaced.
The caps are provided with two # threads, one 8 with a circular hole 9, the other 10 with a side opening 11 which allows the bolt 6 to pivot and be moved apart and the cap 7 to be released without removing nut 12; these caps are arranged in such a way that when the bolts are tightened, the pipe enclosed between the central core and a cap is securely held by the pressure exerted on it. The device described can hold assembled pipes on which a traction of up to 3000 k g is exerted. The length of the housings 2, 3 may be equal to or greater than twice the diameter of the pipes to be assembled.
The device described has the following advantages: Each bonnet can be brought out of its working position without it being necessary to remove the nuts from the bolts, which can be obtained by unscrewing the nut 12 on the right (fig. . 3), rotating the corresponding bolt outward, then rotating outward the bolt if killed on the opposite side, which drives the chain in its movement. The cap can be placed in a reverse sequence.
The bolts can be released without the need for shearing or other operations. as happens in all other types of joints known for the same purposes.
The danger is thus avoided that the device becomes unusable, when the bolts damaged by use must be replaced.
The device is completely removable in all its parts.
40 The device resists torsional, shearing and bending forces which occur in the metallic structures in which it is used.
