La fig. 1 montre, en coupe axiale, une chaudière annulaire verticale avec foyer pour combustibles solides, faisant partie d'une première forme d'exécution de l'instal lation selon l'invention; La fig. 2 montre, en coupe axiale, une chaudière annulaire verticale avec foyer pour combustibles liquides faisant partie d'une seconde forme d'exécution de l'instal lation; La fige 3 se rapporte à une troisième forme d'exécution comprenant une chaudière à deux corps annulaires réunis entre eux à angle droit, dont l'un est vertical et l'autre horizontal, pour l'utilisation -de charbons gras (Cardiff);
Le fonctionnement -du foyer de cette ins tallation est analogue à ,celui du foyer repré senté en fig. 1, sauf que le courant d'air in férieur, au lieu :d'entrer par une grille, entre par l'interstice 7a en se réchauffant;
Heating installation. The present invention relates to a heating installation, for example a hot water or low pressure steam installation for continuous fire thermosiphon heating, burning solid or liquid fuels.
This installation is characterized in that it comprises a boiler and a hearth in which the air is supplied in two currents arriving in two distinct zones, one of the currents arriving on the fuel and producing complete combustion by generating - of C0, while the second stream, meeting the CO still in contact with the fuel,., completes the combustion and transforms the CO into CO ..
The installation can also have an automatic temperature regulator, actuated by variations in the water level in a compensation tank and acting on the fireplace draft. Said tank may be in pneumatic communication with another tank which contains the members acting on the draft of the hearth. The attached drawing represents, at. By way of examples, a few embodiments of the object of the invention.
Fig. 1 shows, in axial section, a vertical annular boiler with a hearth for solid fuels, forming part of a first embodiment of the installation according to the invention; Fig. 2 shows, in axial section, a vertical annular boiler with a hearth for liquid fuels forming part of a second embodiment of the installation; Fig 3 relates to a third embodiment comprising a boiler with two annular bodies joined together at right angles, one of which is vertical and the other horizontal, for the use of fatty coals (Cardiff);
Figures 4 and 5 schematically show two devices for adjusting the temperature of the water, one or the other of these devices being able to form part of the installations shown in FIG. 1 to 3.
The first embodiment of the installation comprises, as shown to in FIG. 1, a boiler 1 formed by a vertical hollow sleeve, in the cavity of which the water circulates from bottom to top, entering by 2 and exiting by 3.
The boiler 1 -is supported by an annular cylindrical base 4 by means of cones 5, below which the same base supports a grid 6. The sleeve forming the boiler has a refractory lining 7 in order not to subtract from the mass in combustion an excessive amount of heat. Externally, the sleeve is coated by a smoke chamber 8a, this chamber being formed by an insulating cylinder 8 which starts from the floor, envelops the base 4, and arrives at a cover 9 having a wide opening to perform from above fuel supply; the chamber 8a is moved at the top of a collector with chimney and butterfly 11, of adjustment.
Solid fuel is supplied by a hopper 12 superimposed on the cover 9; between the hopper -and the edge -of the opening -of the cover is formed a circular space 13 for a first supply of air which is carried out at the top. A second air supply is made at the bottom through the grid 6. The quantity of air sucked through the opening 13 is adjustable using a ring 14 sliding on a guide applied to the hopper 12.
The combustion takes place. In the following way The air drawn in through the circular opening 13 causes incomplete combustion in the fuel M which generates C0, this gas passing through the mass of the igniting fuel and meeting at the bottom the air which is sucked through the grid 6., This, second, air current, on the one hand, causes the combustion of the CO coming from above and transforms it into C02 and, on the other hand , completes the combustion of fuel 111 which is located at the bottom.
The hot gases lick the outer surface of the boiler, rise in the circular chamber Sa and meet in the collector to escape through the chimney 10.
Fig. 2 relates to a form of execution of the installation intended to burn liquid fuel. This installation also includes a boiler 1, supported by 5 'feet. It is coated internally with refractory material 7 only partially, the coating being omitted at the bottom. At the top, the.
refractory material 7 'is moved away from the boiler and forms therewith an annular gap Ira, with a number of windows along the lower edge, the entry of which is adjustable using a ring 15 capable of sliding on a guide applied to the refractory 7 '. Between the adherent wall 7 and the spaced wall 7 'is interposed a funnel-shaped body 16 having a large hole; under the body 16, the wall 7 supports, by means of a cross member 17, a cone which is flush with the large hole of the funnel 16.
The refractory chamber 7 '-is filled with refractory material in pieces, for example balls 19 (practically graphite can also be used for this purpose); on the equipment 19, the liquid fuel is made to fall from the casing 12 which, in the installation of FIG. 1, ser vait, of hopper. The space between funnel 16 and spider 17 can be inspected through windows which can be closed with refractory plugs 20.
The operation -du hearth of this installation is analogous to that of the hearth shown in fig. 1, except that the lower air current, instead of: entering through a grille, enters through the gap 7a while heating;
this air flow is adjustable, just as the air entering at the top through the circular opening 13 is adjustable using a ring 14. The fuel, which drops in drops on the balls 19 and the coatings, has a large surface area against heat for the gasification as well as air for the formation of the combustible mixture. The mixture undergoes a first incomplete combustion while passing through the mass of incandescent balls 19, and a second complete combustion when the C0, before unblocking outside the funnel - 16 on the cone 18, meets the second current. of heated air.
The reversed flames lick the refractory 7, and the hot gases lick the boiler, first on the inside and then on the outside, enveloping it in the chamber 8a to finally escape through the chimney 10.
Fig. 3 relates to an installation for combustion & fatty fuels. It comprises a boiler, the part exposed to the hot gases of which is very large, in order to prevent the formation of smoke.
This boiler is formed by a vertical-hollow sleeve chon 1 connected at right angles to a hollow horizontal sleeve 1 '. The smoke chamber 8a conforms to the external shape of the boiler, and its insulating casing 8 has walls 8 'for closing the sleeve 1' and for supporting the boiler. Appropriate baffles force the hot gases leaving the fireplace to lick all the walls of the boiler before exiting through the chimney 10.
The fireplace is of the type already described and illustrated in FIG. 2, however here the refractory balls are replaced by 'the mass M of the fuel descending from the hopper 12; also there is no cone against the black funnel 16. Windows, closed by plugs 20, are used for the maintenance and the control of the hearth. The ashes fall into an ashtray 21 provided inside the sleeve 1 'and provided with a network 22 to receive the unburned fragments.
The operation: of the hearth of this installation is similar to that of the previous hearth, that is to say that a first combustion is caused at the top in a perfect way by a draft of air sucked in. by the circular opening 13 which -is adjustable by means of the ring 14. A second combustion, complete, with transformation of CO into C02, is caused at the bottom by the air sucked in through the gap 7a. The reversed flames lick the coating 7 of the sleeve 1, and the hot gases first invade the sleeve 1 'and then the chamber 8a to finally escape through the chimney 10.
Fig. 4 schematically illustrates a device for the automatic adjustment of the water temperature in any one of the installations shown in FIG. 1 to 3, if these installations are @ thermosiphon.
The level of the water in a compensation tank 28, located at the highest point of a pipe 24, is not exposed to atmospheric pressure, the tank being provided with a hermetic cover. and its -air chamber being connected by a thin pipe 25 @ to a device which controls the butterfly 11 (fig. 1, 2, .3) -du hearth of the boiler. This device com carries a second tank 26 with a diaphragm 27 which divides it into two chambers.
The outer chamber is closed and. In its air space opens the pipe 25. The inner chamber is at free level and contains a float 28 which actuates the butterfly regulating the draft, by means of a lever 30 and a rod 29 whose length is adjustable.
The volume of water in line 24 is proportional to its temperature; the level of water in the compensation tank 23 will therefore be proportional to this temperature, this level influencing the level of the tank 26 through the air channel 25. This last level in turn influences the free level of the chamber formed by the diaphragm 27, the float of which will act on the butterfly 11.
If the installation is intended for furnace heating, a liquid with a high boiling degree, for example oil, is used, and where the compensation tank is very close to the boiler, the boiler can be placed. float 28 (fig. 5) in the compensation tank, which in this case will be at free level.
