Device to prevent so-called dripping from closed, still wet umbrellas. In rainy weather, the umbrellas have the disadvantage that when they are closed, the water drains from them at the top and, if there are no containers to hold the umbrellas that catch the water, create pools of water on the floor. The invention aims to remedy this problem.
The subject of the same is a device in the form of a hollow body, which must be open at the end facing the canopy and has fastening means to be able to fasten it to the umbrella tip; as a fastening means, it can have a rib body which connects the hollow body to the tip of the screen.
In the drawing, two example embodiments of the subject invention are shown. 1 shows the lower end of a men's umbrella with a collecting device, FIG. 2 shows a section along the line II of FIG. 1, FIG. 3 shows the lower end of a women's umbrella with a collecting device, and FIG. 4 shows a section along the line TI- II of FIG. 3.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 and 2, the hollow body 4 is attached to the screen tip 1 of the screen 2 with the aid of the rib body 3. The hollow body forms a vessel which tapers downwards and is open at the top, the edge b of which is at a small distance from the capsule 6 delimiting the umbrella tip 1 from the umbrella material. The hollow body can advantageously be expanded like a funnel at the top. The rib body 3, which sit in the hollow body, each have a ring 7, the inner diameter of which should speak ent at least approximately that of the screen tip.
The ring 7 is expediently made of rubber and is connected to the ribs such that it can be displaced. The rib body 3 and the side wall of the hollow body together form flow holes 9 for the rain water.
The embodiment according to FIGS. 3 and 4 is similar to that according to FIGS. 1 and 2, but, as is usual with ladies' umbrellas, the umbrella tip 1 is shorter and there is no capsule between the tip and the umbrella on the screen. The rib bodies 3 are shaped differently here, but also each have a bore 8 and flow openings 9 that fit onto the tip of the umbrella.
The vessel-like hollow body can be made of metal, synthetic resin or other material and also have a shape different from the one shown, e.g. B. spherical shape. A screw can also be used as a fastening means, e.g. B.-was also pressed into the hollow body.
The mode of operation and handling of the device is as follows: As soon as the wet umbrella is closed, the water flows against the tip 1, flows down it and drips off into the container 4, where it passes through the openings 9 in the rib bodies 3. When it is used again, the screen only needs to be inclined in order to make the water flow out of the hollow body 4.
