Additional patent to main patent No. 169695. Process for the production of a chromium-containing azo dye. It has been found that a chromium-containing azo dye can be obtained if a mixture consisting of the complex chromium compound of the azo dyes from dianotated 1-amino-2-oxynaphthalene-4-sulfonic acid and 2-oxynaphthalene,
and from nitrated 1-diazo-2-oxynaphthalene-4-sulfonic acid and 2-oxynaphthalene on the one hand and the azo dyes from dianotated 1-amino-2-oxyriaphthalene-4-sulfonic acid and 2-oxynaphthalene, and the azo dyes from dianotated 1 -Amino-2-oxynaphthalene-4-sulfonic acid and 1-Pheriyl-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone on the other hand, treated with hot diluted acids.
The chromium-containing azo dye is a purple-black powder that dissolves in water and 10% soda solution with a purple color. He dyes wool from organic acid-sulfuric acid bath in real red-tinged navy blue tones.
Example: 30 parts of a mixed complex chromium compound prepared in an acidic medium, the 20 parts of the azo dye from dianotier ter 1-amino-2-oxynaphthalene-4-sulfonic acid, e and 2-oxynaphthalene, and 10 parts of the Azo dye made from nitrated 1-diazo-2-oxynaphthaliri-4-sulfonic acid and 2-oxynaphthalene are suspended in 400 parts of water containing 4 parts of propionic acid.
8.32 parts of the azo dye from dianotated 1-amino-2-oxynaphthalene-4-sulfonic acid and 2-oxynaphthalene, and 8.94 parts of the azo dye from dianotated 1-amino-2-oxynaphthalene-4-sulfonic acid and 1 are added -Phenyl-3-methyl-5-pyrazolone added and heated under reflux with stirring until no more unchromized dye can be detected.
After cooling, 10% sodium hydroxide solution is added until everything is in solution, filtered, neutralized with highly dilute hydrochloric acid and the new chromium-containing dye is precipitated by adding sodium chloride.
The same chromium-containing azo dyes are obtained if, instead of propionic acid, other acids, such as. B. formic acid, acetic acid, benzenesulfonic acid, tartaric acid, sulfuric acid, oxalic acid, naphthalenedisulfonic acid or lactic acid can be used.
