Description
The process of producing a new nonoazo carbate. The present invention relates to the manufacture of a new monoazo dye which dyes wool in pure yellow tones which have very good resistance to intensive washing, fulling and light.
According to the present process, the dye is prepared by coupling dodecyl 3-amino-4-methoxy-1-benzoate with diacotized dodecyl with 1- (4'-sulfophenyl) -3-methyl-5-pyrazolone.
Example: A suspension of 33.5 parts by weight of dodecyl 3-amino-4-methoxy-1-benzoate in 250 parts by weight of water and 26 parts by weight of 360% hydrochloric acid is diazotized by adding 6.9 parts by weight of sodium nitrite. The solution of the diazo compound is filtered if necessary and then added to a cooled, aqueous solution (5 ° C.) of 25.4 parts by weight of 1- (4'-sulfophenyl) -3-methyl-5-pyrazolone, the 15% sodium chloride i'weight for volume)
and is kept alkaline against litmus during the addition of soda. The coupling reaction is rapid. When it is finished, the mixture is heated to 500 C, the dye is filtered off and dried in any suitable way. The new dye is a reddish yellow powder that forms a soapy, yellow solution with hot water and dissolves in concentrated sulfuric acid with a yellow color.
It gives pure yellow tones on wool, which are very resistant to intensive washing, tumbling and light when using a dye bath containing 2% ammonium acetate.
