Description

  

  



  Verfahren zur Herstellung eines   Mottensehutzmittels.   



   Es wurde gefunden, dass man zu einem hochwirksamen Mottenschutzmittel gelangen kann, wenn man N-Benzyl-Isatinsulfosäure, erhältlich durch direkte Sulfurierung von N-Benzylisatin in Schwefelsäuremonohydrat, und   p-tertiäres    Amylphenol, mit Hilfe eines Kondensationsmittels zur Reaktion bringt.



   Das entstandene Produkt ist ein weisses, gut wasserlösliches Pulver, das aus saurer wässeriger Lösung auf tierische Fasern farblos aufzieht und dann dem Wasch-und   WalkprozeB    ausgezeichnet widersteht. In dieser Weise vorbehandelte Wolle ist gegen den Angriff der Mottenlarven vollkommen geschützt.



   Beispiel :
17 Teile N-Benzyl-Isatinsulfosäure (hergestellt durch direkte Sulfurierung von N-Benzylisatin in   Schwefelsäuremonohydrat)    und 17 Teile   p-tertiäres    Amylphenol werden in 50 Teilen   konz.    Salzsäure gelöst und nachträglich mit 14 Teilen Zinntetrachlorid als Kondensationsmittel in der Kälte versetzt. Man erhitzt langsam auf 100 bis   110      und lässt die Reaktion bei gleicher Temperatur während drei Stunden fortbestehen.



  Nachdem das Reaktionsprodukt   erkaltet    ist, wird mit Wasser verdünnt und die Lösung so lange mit Wasserdampf destilliert, bis kein Amylphenol mehr übergeht. Durch Zugabe von Kaliumchlorid wird das Produkt ausgesalzen, durch   Umlösen    gereinigt, mit Kaliumcarbonat neutralisiert und wieder ausgeschieden. Das getrocknete Produkt ist ein weisses, wasserlösliches Pulver. Bei   Verwen-    dung von   Zinkohlorid    als   Kondensations-    mittel verläuft die Reaktion in gleicher Weise.

   It has been found that a highly effective moth repellent can be obtained if N-benzyl-isatin sulfonic acid, obtainable by direct sulfurization of N-benzyl isatin in sulfuric acid monohydrate, and p-tertiary amylphenol, are reacted with the aid of a condensing agent.



   The resulting product is a white, readily water-soluble powder that is colorlessly absorbed from an acidic aqueous solution on animal fibers and then withstands the washing and fulling process excellently. Wool pretreated in this way is completely protected against attack by the moth larvae.



   Example:
17 parts of N-benzyl-isatin sulfonic acid (produced by direct sulfurization of N-benzyl isatin in sulfuric acid monohydrate) and 17 parts of p-tertiary amylphenol are concentrated in 50 parts. Dissolved hydrochloric acid and then added 14 parts of tin tetrachloride as a condensing agent in the cold. The mixture is slowly heated to 100 to 110 and the reaction is allowed to continue at the same temperature for three hours.



  After the reaction product has cooled down, it is diluted with water and the solution is distilled with steam until no more amylphenol passes over. The product is salted out by adding potassium chloride, purified by dissolving, neutralized with potassium carbonate and excreted again. The dried product is a white, water-soluble powder. If zinc chloride is used as a condensation agent, the reaction proceeds in the same way.
