Description
Radiological contrast agent. The main patent protects a radiological contrast agent consisting of an aqueous solution of an iodomethane sulfonic acid salt.
During further processing it was found that not only the solutions of salts of iodomethanesulfonic acid itself, but also the solutions of salts of such iodomethanesulfonic acids, which are substituted by saturated groups of an aliphatic type, i.e. open and cyclic residues of aliphatic character, in excellent way for the radiographic representation of hollow systems of the warm-blooded organism and are applicable in the manner described in the main patent ge.
Example: 20 grams of the sodium salt of 1-iodoethane-1-sulfonic acid are dissolved in 100 cm of water. The solution obtained in this way can be injected intravenously within 1 to 2 minutes into a measurement prepared by an appropriate diet. If a few minutes later an X-ray is taken in the usual way, a lifelike picture of the urinary tract is obtained.
To the . The same result is obtained if, in place of the aqueous solution of the salt of 1-iodoethane-l-sulloic acid, aqueous solutions of the salts of iodomethane sulfonic acids that are substituted by other alkyl radicals or alicyclic radicals are used.
