Procedure for the representation of an etch-resistant dye of the Galloeyaninreilie. The main patent relates to a process for the production of a new dye from the Galloeyanin series, which is characterized in that the dye obtainable from gallic acid and nitrosodiethylmet, i-toluidine condenses with aniline under the simultaneous action of oxidizing agents,
the carboxyl group is then split off in the condensation product and the decarboxylated anilino compound formed is finally treated with sulfonating agents.
The new dye probably corresponds to the following formula:
EMI0001.0019
At the point labeled x - in the meta position to the diethylamino group - it has a substituerite (CH8). Compared with your corresponding known dye, which has no substituent at the point indicated, the new "meta-substituted dye" proves to be much more resistant to reducing agents.
It is therefore particularly suitable for use in reduced etching printing.
It was found that a similar, etch-resistant galloeyanine dye will hold up if, in the process of the main patent, instead of the dye from gallic acid and nitrosodiethyl-ineta-toluidii) the corresponding one from gallic acid and nitroso-dimethyl-meta-tolLiidine used, this condenses with aniline under the simultaneous action of oxidizing agents,
the carboxyl group is then split off in the condensation product and finally the decarboxylated anilino compound formed is treated with styling agents.
The process is illustrated by the following example: 60 parts of gallic acid and 100 parts of nitrosodimethyl-meta-toluidite hydrochloride are prepared in 600 parts of methyl alcohol usually represents the gallocyanine dye, which is soluble in dilute alkalis.
25 parts of this dye are stirred in 180 parts of Anflin for 60 hours with the introduction of air. The carboxyl group is split off from the anilino compound formed by heating the reaction mixture to 120 ° and the anilino compound of the pyrogalloeyanine dye, which is insoluble in alkalis, is obtained.
50 parts of this anilido body are heated with 220 parts 2017o oleum for 11/2 hours to 45 0 , then cooled and mixed with 250 parts of ice. The sulfonic acid which precipitates out in crystalline form is easily soluble in water and sparingly soluble in dilute acids. For use as a dye, the acid is converted into an alkali salt.
The product obtained dissolves in concentrated sulfuric acid with a purple-red color. In dilute alkalis, the dye dissolves with a blue color. As a free sulfonic acid, it is easily soluble in water, less soluble in dilute acids and crystallizes from it in beautiful prisms.
In the chrome print on cotton the color .toff delivers reddish blue color tones. Thanks to its resistance to reducing agents, it is suitable for use in reduced color etching printing.
