Description

Door. The present invention relates to a door in which the door sill is movably arranged in such a way that it is sunk into a floor recess when the door is opened by interaction of the door leaf with a stop on the door sill and is moved up therefrom when the door is closed.

The accompanying drawing illustrates an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention.

Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the same with a part in section; 2 and 3 are cross-sections through the door sill on a larger scale with the open or. closed door; Figures 4 and 5 are corresponding end views of the door sill.

In a recess A of the floor, the door sill B is rotatably mounted about a horizontal axis b in such a way that it is due to one-sided excess weight from an elevated position in which it protrudes over the floor surface and which corresponds to your final state of the door. can be lowered into recess d by rotating about that axis, so that it closes the same flush with the floor.

At one end of the door sill B, a stop finger c is attached to the axis of rotation b (FIGS. 4 and 5), with which the door leaf cooperates in such a way that the door leaf sinks the door sill B into the recess Et when the door is opened leaves (Fig. 2 and 4), when closing, on the other hand, by striking your finger c, the door sill B is turned up out of the recess d into the position of Figs. 1 and 5,

in which the door threshold B on a lower rebate insert d of the door leaf, for example from. Felt can exist, conveying a tight seal. In order not to prevent the door sill B from turning upwards, a cavity f is provided on the lower edge of the door leaf, which is covered with an iron lining g.

The door threshold is expediently made of wood; but it can also be made of other material. The advantages of the device described are as follows: 1. Elimination of any elevation in the floor when the door is open, which in particular avoids the uncomfortable crossing of the threshold and prevents accidents, mainly of old people and children.

  2. A good hermetic seal of the door, which prevents drafts or heat loss from the heated rooms.

  3. Easier cleaning in the living room, easier use of rolling furniture etc., especially in hospitals.

  4. The retractable door threshold can be installed in every common door.

  5. The door threshold can easily be attached by any carpenter.

  6. This door has the particular advantage that the frequently occurring warping of the door leaves is not a problem.

  7. When the door is open, the threshold is sunk and the floor is absolutely level so that serving boys, sewing machines, bassinets etc. can be driven over it without hindrance.
