La came 38 (fig.
Le plateau 87 poussé par le levier 81 actionné par le levier 79 vient serrer la boîte contre le plateau 93; les -leviers 8 et 14 et le chasse-boîte 51 se retirent. Le levier 36 ouvre l'aspiration d'air, la bande de papier est aspirée et s'avance portée par le disposi tif porte-bande 31 mû par les leviers 30 et 32;

The automatic machine shown com carries a camshaft 1 mounted on the bearings 1 ', 1 "themselves fixed to the frame 2 of the machine.
The camshaft controls the various parts of the machine. The cam 3 (fig. 5) via the roller 3 'controls the movement of the lever 3 ", which pivots at 4. This lever 3" simultaneously actuates the advancement of the objects on which the strips of paper are glued, in this case packaging boxes of generally cylindrical shape, this by the lever 5 rotating the paddle wheel 6 whenever necessary, by means of a ratchet; it is brought back into position by the spring 5 'represented by its axis; the lever 3 "also actuates the lever 7 operating the lever 8 on which the lever 9 is articulated, the lever 8 being intended for centering the box.
The lever 8 is brought back by the spring 8 'fixed to the lever 9. On the other hand, the lever 3 "actuates a lever 10 articulated at 11 with a lever 12 pivoting at 13 and whose branch 14 causes the boxes to be centered by The cam 15, the roller 15 'and the lever <B> 15 "</B> indicated in dotted lines in fig. 5 are intended for controlling the lever 16 brought back to its place by the weight of the brush holder, not shown in the drawing; the spring 16 'allows the brush to follow the shape of the perimeter of the box; the lever 16 is articulated at 18 with a lever 17, the branch of which 19 causes the vertical movement of the brush 20.
The cam 21, the roller 21 'and the lever 21 "pivoting in 22 actuate the rotation of the boxes by means of the levers 23 and 24 maneuvering the axis 25 mounted on the bearings 25', 25". The axis 25 is operated by means of the pawl 26 pushed to each new box by the finger 27 integral with the levers 23 and 24.
The cam 28, the roller 28 'and the lever 28 "articulated at 29 control the lever 30 which transmits the movement to the tape holder device 31. Grooved rollers 31" prevent the paper from rising on the door device. -band 31. The lever 30 is articulated at 32 with a lever 33 sliding clans a guide 34; a spring 30 'represented by its axis returns the lever 30 to its first position. The band holder device 31 is integral with the lever 33 and is further perforated with a series of holes 31 'connected by the pipe 35 to an air suction device 35' and are intended to fix the band by suction. paper on the tape holder 31.
The opening and closing of the air suction in the device 35 'is effected by the lever 36 controlled by the cam 37 and the roller <B> ST; </B> a spring 36' represented by its axis the returns to its initial position. The cam 38 (fig. 9), the roller 38 'and the lever 38 "pivoting at 39 control the lever 40, returned to its initial position by the spring 40' represented by its axis, transmitting the movement via the arm. 41 and from the rod 42 to a finger 43 operating a finger pinching the strip of paper against the box, not shown in the drawing. The cam 44, the roller 94 'actuate the lever 45 pivots both on the support 46, operating by its end 47 a device for cutting the paper strip (not shown in the drawing).
This cutting device has a movable finger preventing the paper from abutting against the scissors after cutting during the advance of the paper. The cam 48, the roller 48 'and the lever 48 "pivoting at 49 control the lever 50 causing both the positioning of the boxes and the flushing of these same boxes once the bonding operation is complete. The lever 50 which carries a spring 50 'at one of these ends is fixed to the box chaser 51, the latter pivoting around the journal 52 integral with the support 53. The cam 54, the roller 54', the lever 54 "pivoting at 55 actuate the lever 56 for changing the direction of rotation of the brush 20.
The lever 56 is articulated at 57 with a pivoting lever 58 at 59 and whose arm 60 controls the axis 61; the latter is mounted in bearings 65 'and 65 "carrying two bearings per bearing; it carries a pinion 62 transmitting to it its rotational movement and a toothed wheel 63 able to mesh with the toothed wheel 64 carried by the axis 65 mounted itself. even in the 65 'and-65 "bearings; this arrangement makes it possible to change the direction of rotation of the brush 20 by still using pinion not shown in the drawing, a spring 66 automatically return the system.
The cam 67, the roller 67 'and the lever 67 "pivoting at 68, control the lever 69, intended for the operation of a finger coming, in due time, to place behind the box to prevent it from falling. The lever 69 is articulated at 70 with a lever 71 pivoting at 72 and the branch 73 of which pushes the finger 74; the latter slides into the support 75 fixed to the bearing 61 ". A blade 76 held by a spring not shown in the drawing is placed in a notch not shown in the drawing, placed in the finger 74 and maintains the latter in position. The cam 77, the roller 77 ', the lever 77 "pivoting at 78 control the lever 79 intended for the operation of the axis carrying a clamping plate for clamping the box.
The lever 79 is articulated at 80 with the pivoting lever 81 at 82 and the branch 83 of which axially actuates the pin 84 fixed in the bearings 61 'and 61 ". The pin 84 carries the plate 85 to which is fixed by springs. 86 another plate 87, this in order to allow elastic clamping. The spring 84 'closes the plate 87 automatically. The plate 85 carries a finger 88. The axle 84 also carries a toothed wheel 89, free on the axle and transmits the movement to the brush-holder axis 61 via the pinion 62. The toothed wheel 89 is itself moved by means of the pinion 90 integral with the latter, by the Galle chain 91 controlled by the pinion 92 camshaft attachment 1.
A third clamping plate 93 is mounted on a pin 94 fixed in bearings 94 'and 94 "; the shaft 94 is moved by the pinion 95 in turn driven by the toothed wheel 96, mounted on the pin 25, this The latter is integral with the lever 23, the other end of the axle 25 carries a toothed wheel 96 meshing with the pinion 97 of the axle 84 and thus transmits its rotational movement to it. The slides 98 and 99 are fixed to the support 53 and to the frame 2. The frame 2 carries a support 100 (fig. 3) for the roll of paper to be glued, it is held by the bars 101. On the support 100 pivots the roller 102.
The rod 103 supports a glue cutter 104 consisting of a roller 104 ', a pinion <B> 105 </B> driven by means of the pinion 106 mounted on the camshaft 1 and the Galle chain 107 and an adjustable blade 104 " The rod 103 further supports the drilled roller 108 connected to the air suction device and to which is fixed a pinion 109 moving the roller 108 by the Galle chain 107; on the rod 103 are further fixed a guide 110 for the strip of paper and a glue tub 111. To direct the strip of paper coated with glue, the frame 2 further comprises a support 112 on which are mounted a roller 113 and a guide 114; a comb 115 is mounted on the support 116 to prevent the paper web from retreating.
The movement is transmitted to the machine by the pulley <B> 117 </B> which can be engaged by the lever 118 actuating a cone clutch 119, the movement then being transmitted by the pinion 120 mounted on the axis of the pulley 117 to the toothed wheel 121 mounted on the camshaft 1.
The operation of the machine is as follows: By engaging the pulley 117 with the clutch 119, the rotational movement is transmitted via the pinion 120 and the toothed wheel 121 to the camshaft 1. This the latter constitutes the main element of the machine; it is from there that are controlled by means of pinions, cams, rollers and levers, the various operations of gluing of the strips of paper, these operations all being carried out by a turn of the camshaft.
The process of operations is done as quit: The boxes of generally cylindrical shape to which the paper strips must be glued, are arranged one after the other in the slide 98. Under the action of the paddle wheel 6 moved by the lever 5 and a pawl, a box descends in the slide 98 perpendicular to the camshaft 1, the axis of the box being parallel to it; the box thus descends between the plates 87 and 93; the paddle wheel 6 stops, then the box is centered between these plates by the levers 8 and 14 and the box wiper 51, while the finger 74 actuated by the levers 69 and 71 comes to be placed behind the box the preventing him from falling into the slide 99.
The plate 87 pushed by the lever 81 actuated by the lever 79 clamps the box against the plate 93; the levers 8 and 14 and the box fighter 51 are withdrawn. The lever 36 opens the air suction, the strip of paper is sucked and advances carried by the band-holder device 31 moved by the levers 30 and 32;
the finger pinching the paper not shown in the drawing, moved by the finger 43 actuated by the rod 42 the arm 41 and the lever 40, is lowered, and the brush 20 descends, the latter being operated by the branch 19 of the lever 18 and by lever 16 until then helping to eject the box. The tape-holder device 31 reaches the end of its travel, the finger clamps the paper under the effect of the finger 43, and the lever 36 closes the air suction and the tape-holder device comes back in front of the scissors, not shown. to the drawing.
The brush rises and rotates in a determined direction under the action of pinions not shown in the drawing, and driven by the toothed wheels 64 and 62 carried respectively by the axes 65 and 61; the end of the paper strip is thus glued against the box, the latter still being stationary. Then the box driven by the plates 87 and 93 starts to rotate. The plate 87 is driven by the axis 84 on which it is mounted, the latter rotating under the effect of the pinion 97 actuated by the toothed wheel 96 'fixed on the shaft 25. The plate 93 shows its rotational movement at the 'axis 94 driven by pinion 95 and toothed wheel 96 of axis 25.
This axis 25 is controlled by the pawl 26, the finger 27, the levers 23 and 24 articulated together; the whole is established so that the trays 93 and 87 are driven at the moment when the rotation of the box is necessary to stick the paper on its periphery. The finger 74 is withdrawn at the start of the rotation of the plates; under the effect of the spring 74 'the finger 88 pushes the blade 76 which releases the finger 74 from the notch, not shown in the drawing, in which the blade 76 was engaged. Then the strip is glued approximately on 3/4 of tower. The air suction is opened and the plates stop rotating.
The strip of paper is sucked in, then the end 47 of the lever 45 closes the scissors, not shown in the drawing, which reopen as soon as the strip of paper has been cut; a lever, not shown in the drawing, integral with the scissors prevents the paper from coming up against the scissors during the advancement of the tape-holder device 31. Then the tape-holder device 31 is withdrawn for about 5 min under the action of the cam 28. The air intake closes, the paddle wheel 6 starts to turn to bring a new box into position. The trays will turn again to stick the rest of the paper strip. The tape holder device 31 moves back to its original position.
The spring 50 'of the box expander 51 tightens. The brush 20 descends part of its stroke to prevent the box when it is being driven out from hitting the edge of the slide 98. The plate 87 opens immediately and the box is driven out by the box pusher 51. A complete opening of the trays, once the box is in the slide 99, the box expander 51 is completely withdrawn and the finger 74 advances to prevent the new box from falling into the slide 99. A new box can descend. The strip of paper to be glued is wound around the roll 102 fixed to the frame 2 by the support 100; bar 101 holds the web of paper on roll 102.
The strip of paper then passes through the binder 104 attached to the rod 103 and is guided by the guide 110 also attached to the rod 103. The strip of paper passes over the roll 104 'which dips in the tub of glue 111 supported by the rod 103. The blade 104 "regulates the thickness of the glue. The roller 104 'is moved by the pinion 105 connected to the pinion 106 of the camshaft 1 by the Galle chain 107.
The strip of paper then passes under the roller 108 moved by the pinion 109 on which passes the Galle chain 107; this roller 108 is perforated and connected to the air suction device on only part of its periphery so as to take off the paper from the roller 104 ′ and to allow it to continue its course towards the guide 114 and the roller 113, both fixed to the support 112 itself fixed to the frame 2 of the machine. - Before arriving at the band-holder device, the paper strip passes under the comb 115 held by the support 116 fixed to the frame 2. This has for purpose of preventing the paper from receding. 31 "fluted rollers prevent paper from lifting and keep it flat.
The machine has the advantage that given the arrival arrangement of the boxes between the trays, any glue can be used, the paper being flat is held by a finger which does not risk slipping out of the periphery of the tray. box during the gluing operation.
Of course, one can provide an embodiment in which several boxes are glued simultaneously.
