<I>Beispiele:</I> 1. 21 Gewichtsteile 3-Methylbenzol-l- thioglykol-2-carbonsäurenitril werden mit <B>600</B> Teilen Wasser, 10 Gewichtsteilen Na- trorLlauge 40' - B6 in Lösung gebracht.
Process for the preparation of a pebble dye. Of the thioindigo dyes methylated in the 4-position, which contain other simple substituents such as CH3, Cl, are. almost all theoretically possible configurations known. These dyes do not yet meet the highest requirements for lightfastness.
It has now been found that the simplest representative of this group, 4,4'-dimethylthioindigo, considerably exceeds the known, more highly substituted, 4-position methylated thioindigo dyes in terms of lightfastness and in this respect meets the highest requirements.
The 4-methyloxythionaphthene used as starting material can be obtained, for example, by ring closure of the substituted in the 2-position by cyano, C ONH = or COOH. 3-methylbenzene-1-thiog13tcolic acid. Ogythionaphthene is oxidized to give the corresponding thiolindigo dye.
The thioindigo dye can also be produced from 4-methyloxythionaphthene-2-carboxylic acid by oxidation. Oxythionaphthene is also capable of forming valuable vat dyes through condensation with diketones or their reactive derivatives.
The subject of this main patent is a process for the preparation of a vat dye, which is characterized in that the 4-methyloxythionaphthene is treated with an oxidizing agent.
Examples: 1. 21 parts by weight of 3-methylbenzene-1-thioglycol-2-carboxylic acid nitrile are brought into solution with 600 parts of water and 10 parts by weight of sodium hydroxide solution 40′-B6. When the solution is complete, 90 parts by weight of sodium hydroxide solution 40 'B6 are added and the mixture is stirred at 80 to 85 for two hours.
The excretion of the sodium salt of 4-methyl-3-amino-1-thione-naphthere-2-carboxylic acid begins as soon as it is heated, which is almost complete after cooling down after adding 50 parts by weight of table salt. After suctioning off and washing with saline solution, the moist paste is dissolved in twenty times the amount of water with the addition of a little sodium hydroxide solution and sodium bisulfite, filtered, the filtrate is acidified with dilute sulfuric acid and warmed on the water bath until the Oxythionaphten formation has ended.
After cooling, the oxythionaphthene is suctioned off, washed and, if necessary, dried. To convert it into the dye, dissolve 20 parts by weight of oxythionaphthene in 50 parts by weight of fuel and 115 parts by weight of 40 B6- sodium hydroxide solution, and pour the solution into a solution of 100 parts by weight of copper sulfate and 1000 parts of water, heated to 70 ss, gradually with stirring and conducts a powerful stream of air through the liquid for several hours while being warm
When the formation of the dye has ended, 80 parts by weight of sulfuric acid 66 are added and the mixture is heated for a few hours, likewise with air being blown through. The dye is filtered off and washed until neutral.
The 4,4'-dimethylbisthionaphthene indigo dissolves with a golden-yellow color on vat and produces very clear, red shades on cotton, which are characterized by exceptionally good lightfastness.
The starting body can be obtained by exchanging the amino group in the 1-methyl-2-amino-3-nitrobenzene for cyano, reducing the nitro group to the amino group and introducing the thioglycolic acid residue via the diazo compound.
2. 10 parts by weight of 3-methylphenyl-1-glycol-2-carboxylic acid are heated to the boil for half an hour with 40 parts by weight of acetic anhydride and 2 parts by weight of anhydrous sodium acetate.
After the acetic anhydride-glacial acetic acid mixture has been distilled off, the 4-methyl-3-acetoxy-thionaphthene formed is saponified by dissolving it in alcohol and a little more than the theoretically required amount of sodium hydroxide solution 40 B6.
A solution of 30 parts by weight of iron chloride (Fe-Ch) is added to the solution of 4-methyloxythionaphthene prepared in this way. Warm up and add mineral acid until the reaction is strongly acidic. The dye separates out completely; - It is filtered off and washed out with water.
3. 20.7 parts by weight of 3- @ ethylbenzene-2-cyano-1-thioglyl @ olic acid are introduced into 115 parts by weight of concentrated sulfuric acid and stirred for three hours at <B> 70 '</B>. Then ge to 250 parts by weight of ice is sucked off and washed neutral. The filter material, which consists of 3-methylbenzene-2-carboxamide-l-thioglycolic acid: is mixed with 600 parts by weight of 8% sodium hydroxide solution and the solution is heated to 80 'for seven hours. The formed 4-Methyloxytliionaphten is deposited by acidification with mineral acid.
It is dissolved in 40 parts by volume of caustic soda 40 'B6 and 50 parts by volume of fuel and 600 parts by volume of water are added to this solution. It is heated to 1'00 and mixed with 20 parts by weight of sulfur. Heating is continued until the oxidation is complete. The dye is filtered and washed out with water. -
