Le dispositif consiste en un organe qui, dans sa partie faisant contact avec la pièce à fixer, est muni d'une creusure et de deux encoches, dans lesquelles est placée une rondelle. Cette rondelle porte des ailettes re pliées sur la pièce à fixer. La creusure et les encoches de l'organe et la rondelle encastrée ont une forme telle qu'en serrant l'organe, la rondelle est obligée à tourner avec cet or gane, tandis que le desserrage de l'organe est empêché par les ailettes formant arrêts sur la pièce à fixer.
