Description
Tightening wrench The object of the present invention is a tightening wrench. This key is characterized by at least one element intended to engage with the part to be tightened and rotatably mounted in the handle of the key, a roller being housed in this handle between a cylindrical bearing surface of the element and a wall of the handle inclined relative to the scope, with the aim that this roller, in a direction of rotation of the key, wedges against the element and drives it with it.
The accompanying drawing represents, by way of example, one embodiment of the object of the present invention.
Fig. 1 is an elevational view thereof and FIG. 2 a plan view with partial section through II-II of FIG. 1. FIG. 3 is a section, on a larger scale, through III-III of FIG. 2.
The key shown comprises a handle 1 in which two clamping elements 2 and 3 of different sizes are rotatably mounted.
Each element includes a cylindrical bearing that 4 by which it is engaged in the handle and two bearing 5 and 6, less high, on which are driven washers 7 and 8; outside the handle, each element ends in a hexagon 9, respectively 10, intended to engage with the part to be tightened, for example to enter a corresponding opening made in the head of a screw. Inside the handle is formed a chamber 11 between the bearing surface 4 of the element and two walls of the handle, namely one 12 radial and the other 13 inclined on the bearing; in this room is housed a pebble 14.
When turning the key in the dextrorsal direction in fig. 2, the roller 14 gets stuck between the handle and the element and drives the latter; in the opposite direction, it leaves it motionless. By turning over the handle, the same operations will be done, but in reverse order.
The above-described wrench will be particularly useful for tightening the screws arranged so that the wrench cannot make a complete turn; this key then, after having described the allowed angle, can be brought back to restart tightening.
