La partie cylindrique 6 du tenon s'engage à frottement assez dur dans un évidement du tuyau 7 prolongeant le fourneau 8; l'orifice de cet évidement étant conformé pour rece voir l'embase 4.
Le fait que le tenon est rendu solidaire de l'embouchure obvie à l'inconvénient résul tant de l'usure des filets de l'embouchure lorsque le raccord n'est pas assujetti à celle- ci; en outre, on peut ainsi réduire la lon gueur de l'embouchure comparativement au cas où le tenon est pris -clans la masse.
Le duralumin convient particulièrement bien pour constituer le tenon à cause de sa malléabilité jointe à. sa. résistance consi- dérable.
Il va sans dire que le nombre de coups de pointeau donnés sur l'embase peut être quelconque; on pourra en outre, modifier de toute façon convenable la forme du raccord, la forme ci-dessus n'ayant été donnée qu'à titre d'exemple.
