Description
Gramophone needle. The invention relates to a gramophone needle, comprising a steel wire crimped into a support rod, needle characterized in that this: rod carries a threaded sleeve whose position can be adjusted to the length of wire that the 'we want to overtake.
The appended drawing represents, by way of example, an embodiment of the needle according to the invention, in a long2'tu.di- nale section along the axis of the needle.
In the end of a support rod is crimped. a steel wire 2. The rod 1 is provided with a thread, on which is screwed a knurled sleeve 3 whose diameter of a borehole made at the end opposite the thread corresponds to the diameter of the steel wire .
The sleeve is of sufficient length to be, when the needle is put into use, engaged by its tapping with the first threads of the thread of the rod 1, and to allow a length of wire to protrude through said drilling sufficient steel for the use to be made at all. A helical spring 4 rests on one end on a shoulder 5 of the rod and on the other on the sleeve.
During the use of the needle, the thread. steel wears out. To compensate for this loss in length, the sleeve is screwed onto the threaded part of the rod. The spring 4 prevents unwanted displacement; it is unnecessary if the bushing is fitted with a greasy friction.
